Nope, but someday.
HI there,
After 2 weeks of tuning up this TT, it is time to see what this is doing power wise.
So, can anyone tell me what to expect for numbers on this car????
SAE corrected, of course.
Any ideas???

If it's a "stock" '87 with the original turbos it'll probably do somewhere around 300rwhp.

HI there,
Bone stock. 40.800 on the clock.
2 ignition wires burned, Bosch +4 platinums were trashed for the RC9YC that the car came with.
Performed a GM 3 part fuel injection clean and decarbonization. Reset the ignition timing, checked on maximum boost, 51 in ABS.
Callaway says it should have 52, but I am not gonna overboost it by trying to play with it.
Had to get rid of the Megaphone tips and Ypipe cause someone tried to play with it, and burned the rear facia.
Installed a Borla Quad ZR1 tip mufflers and Y pipe.
Braking system got Powerslot rotors, Ceramic pads, and full bleed and flush.
Tweaked the stock suspension and alignment settings to factory.
Ok, dyno appointment is scheduled for 12pm, Sat the 3July.
Will post the results here.

Can't wait for the fireworks :upthumbs

You can purchase a set from Callaway as they are back in production. Saw a set at Bloomington, the workmanship is outstanding.
If I recall correctly, I believe they were $850
Call Ted Rice @ Callaway Cars: 860-434-9002

Mark is correct, Megaphones are BACK in production :upthumbs

I was just on the telephone with Scott Rawling, at Callaway Cars and we are working on a rear Y pipe - BACk to the Megaphones.
2.5" "Y" to the Meg's is the goal, please let him know if this interests you as I mentioned I was probably not the only one who would buy that for my B2K :cool

While at Bloomington, Scott held a megaphone in position on my SNAT so I could visulize what it would look like. Very nice. He said he could fabricate a clamp so I could switch between the Magnaflows I have mounted and the Megaphones, depending on what my mood was at the time.
Hmmmmm.........wonder what my next mod will be:D

c4c5,

This is the rack that Callaway had at the Bloomington show.

I must say, Callaway4Fun and myself had a 2.75" exhaust system installed with random tech bullet cats and megaphones...... how sweet it is!

Mark, I thought you would get a kick out of this...

Hi there,
Ok, the verdict is in, and Im not happy.
288.7 horse and 451.3 ft lbs of torque. I could not get real 52 in ABS out of the turbos. Once I had to back off, because the gauge hit 55 and that is too much by Callaway standards.
After that, it only got to 50.
Too much knock retard of the ignition timing also had alot to do with it.
This could be due to the carbon buildup in the cylinders.
I am going to do a more aggressive decarbonization overnight and see what I can do during the week to get these up.
Ill keep you all posted. c4c5

My first thing would be to check and see if the cats are clogged up. Get it out and blow the carbon out of it.

How was the A/F ratio?

I'm guessing that after the motor and intercoolers built up some heat that you saw some ignition retard. Bad gas?? What else changed to cause the boost to fall back?? 12hp shy of 300 sounds like the car is right on the money. Take that 345 flywheel rating and subtract off ~16% (if it's a Dynojet that you're using). 289 wheel horsepower is what that works out to be. Sounds like that bad boy is just fine. Certainly, there is a lot more in there with a slight twist of the wastegate screws, however, if the person is using it as just a driver-- I'd leave it where it's at. Also, torque at the wheels far exceeded "stock" expectations. Sounds like that car is a runner!

Hi there,
Yes, it was a Dynojet. AFR, with wideband sensor monitoring was about 12.4 to 1. Good from what I know.
Cats, I checked back pressure at 2000 rpm, no load and only had .5psi. Also, good from what I know.
I am going to be doing a 10% GM fuel injection cleaning and see what the decarb does.
Running again at the dyno, 1 pm on the 10th.

C4C5: IIRC my dynojet runs got me a best of 285rwhp and 436 lb ft of rw torque. Only mods are K&N filter, new Y-pipe w/o precats and Random Tech Cat. FYI.

Dyno'd my '87 back in 2001; best run was 312.1 rwhp & 454.1 ftlb rw torque @ 3K rpm (this was with a small exhaust leak I had at the time). Since then I've replaced the exhaust and turbos, added a K&N filter, and made a few other mods ... should go see what the new numbers are :)
