1998 BLK/Torch Red Vert,Z06 wheels,K&N,BBK shorty
Hello folks. My name is Dave and I'm from North Carolina, half way between Charlotte and Asheville and I'm new to this site. I recently retired at the age of 55 and I needed something to play with. I was able to locate a torch red, black top '98 conv with low milage for sale. It's a six spd and has a Corsa cat back system with a K&N cold air intake and 80mm MAF. It also has polished wheels from an '04 vette and all paper work and receipts since new. I don't know that much about vettes but I feel real good about purchasing this one. Thanks.

Welcome to CORVETTE ACTION CENTER Dave; glad you have joined us :beer

Hi Dave! Congrats on your purchase - your '98 sounds sweet! I have a '98 Light Carmine Red Metallic convertible with the B&B exhaust and I love that sweet sound.

Be sure to check out the CAC Tech Center and the 1998 Model Center to learn more about Corvettes in general and your 'vert specifically. :thumb

We also have a SE Region group here that tries to get together a couple of times a year for cruising on the Tail of the Dragon and other Smokie Mountain roads. Beautiful region!!

Enjoy! And post pix when you can. We love pix of Corvettes.

Thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. Posting a few pictures this time from a local car show and a few from the Gastonia,NC Christmas parade today. I enjoyed the parade. I heard several "nice car" comments along the way.

Welcome to the CAC Dave.

WOW, in your town used Corvettes come with GIRLS as accessories!:thumb But I'll bet that accessory is costly, if not up front, it will cost ya in the future.;LOL

Nice C5.

thanks

I didn't get to keep her. I had to give her back after the parade. Also got to meet a few other C5 owners from this area.

Please keep your eyes pealed for a silver vert C6 .A couple yahoos in your area picked it up at the dealer and I haven't seen it since .

Welcome to the CAC Dave. :w Hey to a fellow North Carolinian.
You have a real nice looking 1998 Corvette. Looks good as new.
Is that Mrs. Dave sitting behind your car at the show? I can't get my wife to stay at shows. She takes off shopping.

welcome to CAC!!!!:welcome
enjoy!!!

Your vette was taken from a dealer in the charlotte,nc area?

Thanks

Yeah, that's my wife Terri. She was there just to show off her new puppy....lol. This C5 had really been taken good care of. My older brother purchased a '98 just like it. I found a '71 model in a barn that has been parked since the owner was murdered in 1975. I'm trying to work out a deal with the sister who is the only living relative.

Dave,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center...and to the World of Corvettes! Your '98 looks very nice, and the wheels look like they're chrome rather than polished...which I think is nicer. In either case, they look super.

Enjoy the camaraderie that the Vette will bring! :)

Dave... you'll get used to vett boy's very dry sense of humor. Maybe. :chuckle
His buddy (and CAC regular Corvette mechanic extraordinare and white lightning afficionado) gmjunkie picked up vett boy's new Vette and transported it south for the winter.

At least that's his story. And he's sticking to it.

;LOL

Thanks Elaine. I'm glad I found this site. Seems to be alot of great folks on this site. I really like your vettes. I have really enjoyed this old C5. It makes me want a newer one but I still have a daughter at East Carolina in Greenville,NC. She's the last one!

I live hour and half east of Old Fort. I can't believe that. Have they been heard from at all?

Going south with it makes sence to me. Maybe they're cruzin' the keys.
