Does anybody recall when the contract with American Racing Corporation was cancelled? My car was ordered in October 1972 with the wheels. I was told the wheels were cancelled in November 1972. The wheels were subsequently purchased in 1972. My car was finally built on 2/20/73. One of my wheels...
I saw your post. Where did you get the wheels? I own a set of the wheels. I have 40 lug nuts. There were two types of lug nuts. I have seventeen of the first type and twenty three of the second type. If you can find my previous posts you will obtain a fair amount of info on the wheels. I have...
I purchased my 1973 on 3/7/73 from Matt Slap Chevrolet, Academy & Grant Avenues, Philadelphia PA. The wheels came through the Bryner Chevrolet Parts Department, Jenkintown PA.
Dobbins was a member of Delaware Valley Corvette Club. He saw my car with the wheels. He owned a restoration shop in Hatboro Pa behind the WaWa store.
My wheels were never clear coated. The area around the lug nuts is painted a satin or flat black. The slots are painted the same color. I do...
I noticed that you are in New Jersey. I joined the Central New Jersey Chapter NCRS. At the September meeting, I brought photos of my car and the wheels. I would be happy to show you the same photos at one of the meetings.
I am reluctant to put photos on the internet for this reason. About...
The computer consultant stopped by today. he put a picture of the casting on the reverse side of the wheel on my id. The Kelsey Hayes reverse side is completely different. Can you see the part number 329381? Check the black book for the part number.
I sent a complete set of photos of the wheels...
I was the recent high bid on a yellow 1969 coupe. I got my winning bid in 3 seconds before closing and $.50 higher than the next highest bid. It is on it's way with an original box. I will try to get my wife or daughter to photograph the 69 and 73 and post in a couple of weeks. What is a good...
The same lug nuts were used for the Corvette yj8's as the 1975 Cosworth Vega. I believe the part number is the same. The first type of the Corvette lug nuts have the black inserts and no round circles. The Cosworth Vega lug nuts have the round circles.
Here we go again, I own a set of the wheels. They did not come on the car. They came through the parts department of the Chevrolet Dealer that sponsors Corvette Club of Delaware Valley (I am a lifetime member). I am, also, a member of NCRS. On September 17, 2007, I joined the Central New Jersey...
My 1973 was ordered with the cast aluminum wheels on 10/15/72 at Matt Slap Chevrolet in Philadelphia Pa. The car was built in February 1973. I was advised the car would not be delivered with the wheels. I took delivery 3/7/73.
The wheels are correct for the car. They were not purchased at a...
Was his a Red 1973, 454, purchased at auction with yj8's?
If so, take a good look at the wheels they are from a later model Corvette. The plastic center hubs have the wrong flag set, the lug nut area is polished and not painted black and the lug nuts were wrong. 1973 lug nuts have black center...
I bought an original medium blue 1973 dealer promotional model in perfect condition on Ebay. I paid $200. Did I get a good deal or a good you know what?
er
Here we go, again. I have a set of the wheels. See the previous discussion. I believe that there are only two sets in existence. The three on Duntov's car at the Corvette Museum and the complete set of four on my 1973. They came over the counter of the parts department of the Chevrolet...
