    A TPMS Headache!!!

Glad you got it figured out! I had a similar issue on my truck. Gotta stick with AC Delco on stuff like this I guess!

Any updates to this issue, Dan? Very odd problem you're having. Did you ever find a fix?

Intake manifold options for an 81

I have an Edlebrock Performer intake, however, from what I understand, power increases are negligible. The stock intake is aluminum, and already pretty good. Changing the heads, and a true-dual exhaust are where the big gains are.

Bleeding brakes on my '81. Pro tips anyone?

GTR1999, The horseshoe clip is there, holding the rubber hose, but is not visible at that angle. The e-brake clip has sheered off, and apparently that isn't the first time. It looks like somebody welded in a replacement and that broke too! But when I pull the E-brake the car stops so I know...

Stripped brake caliper mounting bolt hole

Well, I had great success using a Heli-Coil. I know that wasn't the recommended fix, but the packaging for the Heli-Coil kit even said it was great for caliper mounting brackets. It was so much easier than I thought. I didn't know the mounting holes could be drilled from either side, and after...

Stripped brake caliper mounting bolt hole

Thanks for the info guys. Wish I didn't have to press out (and then in) the bearing to get the bracket off... I might as well just replace it if I went that far, which I don't want to do. Wish me luck! -Tatortot

Stripped brake caliper mounting bolt hole

I had to replace my right-rear caliper last week, but when I went to tighten the right mounting bracket bolt (towards the front of the car) it didn't feel "right." I decided to check on it again and now I can feel that the bolt hole appears to be stripped. I went as far as replacing the bolt...

Here's a picture of the new caliper. You can see what the brake cleaner did....

Bleeding brakes on my '81. Pro tips anyone?

I assume paint, as the brake clean I sprayed on it clouded the finish ;LOL -Tatortot

It worked! The brakes feel great again. Thanks for all the tips! Now to tackled the front. dougelam: She's all buttoned up right now so no pics handy. But this is the caliper I ordered.

Bleeding brakes on my '81. Pro tips anyone?

Fantastic replies from all. You guys are absolutely correct in that the Mity-Vac is a waste of time. I had my girlfriend pump the brakes as I bled and it got MUCH better. The brake light even went out. However, the pedal still goes to the floor. It stops, but it can be better. I bled each...

Bleeding brakes on my '81. Pro tips anyone?

After discovering the brake fluid in my vette was at least 6 years old, and seeing that it was no longer clear, I decided I wanted to change the brake fluid out. The method I was going to use was gravity bleed through the rear calipers first, but making sure the fluid never got empty at the M/C...
