you can get new glass... I think list is $453 for the glass.. I talked them down to about $365.. whole new assembly (glass, motor, housing) runs $700+ Its not a coating.. The local tech indicated to me there is fluid in the mirror and what you're experiencing is what happens when the seal...

I think if you go to the dealer they will say its normal and not to worry... (piston slap).. if it goes away when the engine is warmed up..

PS2's nobody ever complains about them on any site.. they ARE the best.

you might also try clay baring your car before color sanding.. repaint seems extreme for such a low mileage car.. even if it was parked outside for a year... pix?
