One indicator of a bad MAF/relays is when the engine runs better with MAF disconnected than when it's connected.

I've searched u-tube for such info for my '89 vert and found that most vids are too brief to be really helpful. There is available a DVD instruction set from a top manufacturer though a bit pricy, IMO. Meanwhile, you might find this site useful...

When you jumper ALDL pins A & B and turn ign to On what codes you get? Code 33 = MAF hi voltage Code 34 = MAF low voltage

If your '93 has an OBD 1 ALDL jumper pins A & B (two upper right) to get the SES codes flashing. If it's OBD 2 you will need to use a scan tool.

Was your procedure: -key off, insert A-B jumper -key on, see if SES flashes "12" three times -if no flashes, check for ground at ALCL connector pin A "did a little rewiring" can be scary... On what page of your '85 FSM are you reading those instructions?
