Your ears should be burning with all the people I've told about your car and the transforamtion! Oddly I haven't run across any retro-rodded Vetts. Big Corvette only get together here in Lake Mary today with only about 5 midyears out of about 70 cars. :w While we were there Big Girl made...

"Snort The Pipes, Daddy" Vettehead you need to pull a Paul Harvey and "Tell The Rest of The Story! For y'all that have never driven one of these old girls with a new frame and powertrain, hold on to your hats and don't try to eat a hot dog or you'll get mustard in your ears from...

    What octane rating

Great to have you to the site, running 93 octane in my 63 327/300, not like I need the extra umph, mine has a power glide with the 3.36. Tank of gas last about 3 months. Never tried a lower grade to see if pinging. Andy

Glad to see you over here! There's some guys that post here that have an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge of these old girls. Keep us updated and remember, "Wheels are round for a reason...... They're made to roll" Save the Wave, Andy

    New guy from Freehold, NJ

My door latch was greatly worn from years of use and I had to have the "finger" built up a little, now I can pull the inside knob back about a 1/4 of an inch and she's open. Good Luck, Andy

    Question: Engine Cleaning

Make sure NOT to direct water to the area between the plastic intake manifold and the metal cover below it. There is a thin foam strip to "TRY" to keep water out of this area, should water enter, you run the risk of it seeping into the two knock center cavities which will eventually cause them...

    Duplicate key?

Generic Key Sharon, This key is not Vette specific, there are only 15 "chips"/ resistors. Once you know the value of either the Resistor Code (Dealership can give you with NO problem by sticking your key in a black box in the parts room) or the resistance value of the black pellet on the...

Good question, I've seen a couple of C2s that had C5 seats installed, not sure of how much fabrication was done. Good Luck, Andy

News: '78 Corvette replica pace car brought back to Tolbert Chevrolet

Many small town Chevy dealers would only get one Vet per year, made it easier to remember the special people who bought them! We had one guy in our town that went out hunting these cars in '78, ended up with 18, I think. Slowly sold them over the years. He's still pretty sharp! ;) Andy

    Question: GM engine plant location?

Man with one watch always know what time it is. Man with two watches never know what time it is. I've never seen any wrenches being twisted during the LS1 production, maybe someone from the assembly plant will chime in. ;shrug Andy
