If you are getting low fuel and gas gauge going to zero use some Techron or Seafoam and fill up the tank with Gulf or Chevron 93 octane gas. Sulfur deposits on sending units in both tanks cause the gauges going to zero. Several tanks of treated gas may be needed to get the gauges going.
After spending 3 months with the car cranking but not starting replaced the TAC with no change. Checked all wires to TB, PCM, accelerator pedal rheostats, had no change. As a last resort took dash apart and replaced electrical part of the Ignition Switch (lock cylinder and VATS sensor were...
Tried starting 98 C5 yesterday, battery was completely dead. Charged overnight and had 12.84 measured at battery terminals. Reset key fobs and they locked, unlocked and opened the trunk. Lights, horn, radio and heater blower motor all work. The key slot is NOT vertical when ignition is off...
Watch it with Armorall heard it deteritrates rubber and plastic after some time
I use the silicone grease and not a huge amount. About once a year in the spring or fall when it isn't so gooey
My driver side handle comes off about once a year
I simply replace it and go. I tried adding more tension to the spring clip but it comes off when it feels like it. NBD.
Mine had lost a LOT of grease
When I pulled mine I could see where the grease had flown out of the bearing. Cleaned dust shield with solvent and used it with new pulley.
Some people say to relubricate the pulley. BS. It will throw out the grease and you will be wasting time when a $16...
Same here Michelin PS A/S ZPs were over $1200 3 years ago
Best price was from Discount Tire Direct as they ship them to you at no charge. Also Michelin has a built in road hazard warranty on the tires so no need to purchase that. My tires were only about 2 or 3 months old using the DOT code...
Strong magnet is all you should need - magnet just turns on the sensor
Hope this was a warranty item and you didn't pay for a receiver you didn't need. If you did go back and demand a refund.
My "Corvette specialist" dealer didn't know about the squeaky idler TSB and replaced tensioners...
Have read that the KN filter doesn't trap as much dirt as the paper filter
For about $12 I am sticking with the paper filter. If you want to go whole hog ditch the OEM and buy a sexy cone shaped filter for $150.
Go for a new IDLER pulley dealer replaced everything else and still had squeel
Dealer replaced tensioners, belts and even the water pump but still had intermittent squeal. Got an idler for $16 from Pep Boys and replaced it myself. No more squeal. Corvette specialist dealer was clueless to the...
welcome to the club
1. Replaced OEM GYs with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZPs and never looked back. Have a vert and the difference in noise and handling is unbelievable. Still makes some noise over 90 MPH. Thats a rag top for you.
4. Go with Rhino GREY ramps. 12000# versus 8000# for the black...
If it WORKS for the fobs its is RECEIVING
The receiver works for the fobs and the TPMS sensors. If it receives fobs rf IT IS WORKING.
If this is a warranty item OK. Otherwise I think you are being sold a bill of goods.
Gene Culley at GMPARTSHOUSE.COM should be able to source the receiver.
Glad you shook the stub out of the motor you lucked out
Saved a 2 hour drill and disassemble job. My new antenna also did not retract fully at first. Had to push it in manually about a half inch for a week or so. Now it retracts almost always fully sometimes just a slight bit up. Isn't that...
If you can't get the mast out doing this remove tail light and remove motor
Sounds like your cable is broken off inside. Only way to fix this is remove motor thru right tail light after unbloting and removing all nuts and screws then drilling out rivets like I did. First go to...
