That's why these older vettes ... and older cars in general, do not appreciate in value like they should. And since there's not much value, smart investors and young people coming up in the ranks of the older car hobby ... are losing interest to the point where soon there won't be any market...
curious to see how long my car will sit on here, a corvette forum, without even so much as a nibble! So far - 1 year!
I'm curious to see how long this can sit on a site of corvette lovers ... before it get's some attention! The price, condition, and everything else is right in-line with it...
Maybe I didn't make myself clear in my description of the car. The engine had been rebuilt and 45k miles put on the car with it's 'original' trans.
Then, I bought the car, and shortly thereafter, I began to feel difficulty in shifting, etc. A mechanic friend o' mine suggested a good trans shop...

I’ve owned this car for just about 12 years now. It’s always been garage kept. In this 12 years I’ve put less than 5000 miles on it, and the odometer shows almost 52,000 mi. on it now. I assume the odometer...
for better gas mileage use higher inflations, for better handling use lower inflations. You have to experiment with what 'feels' best.
But whatever you do, be sure to have a good spare, inflated high enough to use, and a working jack with you, so you're ready for possible problems while yore...
On my '80 the driver's side visor is telescoping. I can install the elbow to the windshield mounting plate, but am not sure how to install the plastic bushings inside the elbow. Does anyone know the proper order to assemble these various pieces and attach the visor to the car?
I think I've found the culprit!
Several months ago I had the car in a vette specialty shop getting some things fixed. One of those was having new door locks installed and hooked up to the anti theft system. This system is the only thing on this circuit that is "powered up" with the key off, and...
Thanks Steve. You've offered some logical hypotheses, but I've already tested your theories - to no avail.
Somehow, this problem is related to running the car up to at least normal operating temperature, and then shutting it off. Sometime after that, the fuse blows - tho not right away, as I've...
Since this problem began, the fuse has blown after every use.
The wiring going into the doors looks ok. I could test that by opening & closing the doors multiple times to see if the fuse'll blow. I could also jump out of the car, instead of using the door
after turning off the engine, ... to...
Johnny-
As you'll see from the recent posts to this forum, I'm having a similar problem with my courtesy fuse. And what I've learned from it is that this fuse controls the power antenna. Without the power antenna operating - the radio won't work. It will light up but it won't play sound or...

rather than shooting your pictures at their highest or best resolution - set the resolution at medium or even low. This works also better than trying to compress them smaller later, ... or resizing. The quality of these lower resolution originals is very good, and more suitable for...
This one is perplexing ... but I have faith that you guys can help me figure this out!
My '80 vette just developed a problem of blowing the clock/courtesy fuse ... AFTER I turn the car off !?!
There were no changes I made to anything I'm aware of, that could have brought this situation about...
Thanks for your response, Jason.
Since posting the thread I've learned that the motor in the car was rebuilt, and I'm going to assume the speedo was changed at that time. So, the motor has 49k miles on it, if Im right.
If the speedo was changed before the rebuild - it has even less miles on it...
Sorry to hear about your "Calling", centerhub. Have been thinkin' of dabbling somewhat more in the stockmarket myself ... and have to remember to only commit so much risk to it - no matter how appealing or "foolproof" it looks. ...
But since I posted my last comment, I've found a '80 shop...
