My system FINALLY arrived last night OCT 6 after Magnaflow went back on their 9/18 shipping date.
Since I got home late last night and didn't have a lot of time to do a thorough inspection, I opened the box and unwrapped one muffler. Both tips have a significant amount of weld splatter on the...
Thanks for all the advice. I'll give it a shot when my new system arrives.
It always helps when you hear from those who have done it before you...the beauty of these forums.
I just ordered the Magnaflow cat back exhaust from Performance Peddler and need advice on removing the stock exhaust system. See
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107706
I attempted to remove the exhaust system last year and was only partially successful.
All...
No looking back now. I placed an order with Performance Peddler...but...backordered from Magnaflow :rotfl
Supposed to be available today, the 18th but likely won't ship until the 22nd...from Magnaflow California....to Massachusetts...FEDEX ground.
JEFNLSA, thanks for the sound clips and...
Looking at your pictures, it appears you have removed your spare tire tub.
Do the Magnaflow pipes restrict access to the spare tire?
I'm thinking seriously of buying a set, but not if it means I can't carry a spare tire.
Thanks.
Searched the forums but didn't see how to do this anywhere.
No problems doing the front pads, but....
I'm trying to replace the rear pads on my 93 w/auto transmission.
The FSM says to disable the automatic adjuster on the parking brake before removing the caliper to replace the pads.
I...
My experience echos those already mentioned. Had the reserve light on and the computer "claiming" 50 or so miles left. Started cutting out when stopping.
A firm believer now in allowing less than 1/4 tank before filling up.
I've read on this forum that you need to be careful on what engine cleaner you use. It has been said that aggresive solvent based cleaners can cause problems with the front leaf spring that crosses under the engine.
Has anyone had any experience with the solvents in engine cleaners attacking...
SS:
Your post reminded me I didn't follow up with the solution to my "sys" blinking.
I've remedied that and look at this link: (hope I do this link thing right)
93 "sys" blinking
Sorry for the delay on the follow up to this thread.
Turns out the battery had a dead cell. 3 year old Sears Die Hard, actually 35 month old Sears Die Hard. 36 month replacement warranty, so I got a new battery out of the deal.
The battery solved my problem.
Targa top front hold down plate alignment write up
I did the alignment over the weekend. Thanks Rabbit for the pages with the procedure and diagrams.
For anyone doing this, here is a write up.
I removed the targa top.
I removed the covers at the top corners of the windshield to get access to...
I just did this procedure on my friends 85. Here is a tip to make removing the valve keeper a little easier.
When you have the rocker arms out of the way and before using the spring compressor, use a small ball pien hammer and give the valve spring retainer a small smack on the edge to break...
Thanks for the replies and Rabbit, thanks for the pages on aligning the roof.
I won't have an opportunity to try this until next week (family matters). I'll let you know how it works out.
Thanks for the replies.
I think Robertwav1 is on the money. My problem with doing the alignment as you describe is that when I was tightening the adjustment bolts, the hold down plate was moving all over the place. I was hoping to get at the bolts from underneath while the roof was installed to...
