    '71 Fan Switch

i have not removed resistor before, but mine appears to have 2 bolts mounting it to AC box. WW Door Actuator will probably have to be removed to gain access room. The picture is a mystery to me. I don't see any wires similar to those (color) on my car in that area.

    '71 Fan Switch

No Picture. Switch is physically located below the outside mounting bolt for windshield wiper door vacuum actuator. The resistor assembly is located inside the AC box and only the wiring connector is visible outside the box. It is a 4 wire connector: purple (mine looks dark blue); light blue...

Doing Your Own Front End Alignment

Interest?? I have viewed this thread many times but never for " interested in aligning their own front ends" purpose. Each day is another episode of "As the Wheel Turns". It is as if the Jury came in with a Verdict long ago but the Defendant is still pleading his Case. FWIW. I have checked...

    Ball bearing in hose?

FYI Timing Specs, FYI. Here are the timing specs. for 350hp 327ci L-79 engine per my 1966 Shop Manual. Two distributors are listed, breaker point and transistor(K-66 option), but timing is same for both. Idle = 10 degrees BTDC. Idle speed 650-750RPM (check with vacuum removed and plugged)...

Block Number?? Is there a 1 in front of 4010207? The "Corvette Black Book" lists 14010207 block from late 1980 thru 1985.

    Ball bearing in hose?

Sharp Throttle? Does the car accelerate normally with a slow gradual push on accelerator pedal? But a sudden and aggressive push results in stumble. If this is case, the accelerator pump in carburetor may not be supplying enough fuel or no fuel at all. Now back to original post asking why is...

    Ball bearing in hose?

Vacuum Advance Years ago, many years ago during Muscle Car era I would pull vacuum line, plug it, and advance distributor timing. This increased power while at drag strip. Then I would reconnect vacuum line and reset timing for drive home. Vacuum advance was for fuel mileage. Performance and...

    Leather Interior Cleaning Opinions?

Corvette Leather?? I have used Mequiar's but switched to Adam's Polishes Leather and Interior Conditioner because I use many of their other products. Also, there is the question of "Are Corvette seats really a genuine leather and does it require a true leather conditioner?". I have seen many...

'Vette, Mustang, Cherokee fans, stop complaining already

:thumb I agree! And here is more on the different people design from the "white haired 'Vette owner" thread. snipped from the referenced "Automotive News" article referring to Ed Welburn design: That partly inspired Welburn to conduct an unprecedented global call for proposals from GM...

    Question: HUD icon

Oil Pressure The Oil Can and Bars indicate oil pressure. What was there before? Perhaps the display was changed. This is display function from Owner Manual: There are five HUD selections that you can choose to view in the HUD display. By pressing and holding the PAGE button, you can scroll...

    Brake Option??

The Window Sticker does not show F55 Magride option. I haven't seen the car, internet shopping. J55 is included with F55 option on Base Model. J55 is also included with the Custom Color Caliper option available in Red, Gray, Silver and Yellow. That is how I understand it from 2012 Brochure...

    Brake Option??

No, not Z51 option. The window sticker lists two options. One for 'Cross Drilled Brake Rotors-Larger' and one for 'Calipers-Red'. These are listed as J55 and J6F in RPO code list. Thanks Don

    Brake Option??

I am looking at a 2012 Base Coupe with Cross Drilled Larger Rotors J55 option and Red Calipers J6F option. I think the option numbers are correct. Now are these the same brakes that are standard on Grand Sport models since they have larger brakes. My question is about brake dust. If the brakes...
