I put in a thermostat and 4000 watt wall mounted electric heater. (220 volt) The garage and door are insulated. It does fine even when it is very cold out.

If your radiator support is rotted out order it now, so you can have it by spring (had to wait 4 months). I have a new radiator in and a new support and shroud sitting in the garage until winter. I found the very same difficulty in the radiator/shroud swap, and gave up until I have the time to...
I got away for many years cleaning mine on the outside with plastic polish a coat of wax and cleaning the inside with a brush and soapy water. I feel your pain - I just replaced mine this year.

I suspect Tom is right. I think a lot of the folks on Ebay are selling warehouse surplus- which is fine in most cases. I found a "great" deal on a nose embem for my '73 - unfortunately it was an attempt at a reproduction and the quality was really poor. FORTUNATELY the seller stood behind...
Twinray is right. I was always a "pump-hold and bleed" guy. After my last rebuild a friend convinced me to try the vacuum bleed. I'm a convert. Much quicker and rock hard pedal.
