New Member Intro and 73 Project Kickoff

BTW, mine was originally dark blue and medium saddle interior. I redid most of the interior as well.

New Member Intro and 73 Project Kickoff

Looks like fun. I finished resto-modding a '73 last year. If I knew then what I know now, I would've done a body off also. Does your 73 still have the gauges in it? If so, there may some minor challenges making everything work with the newer setup but all doable, easier with the body off to...

    Help! 73 speedometer problems

Dont worry, your 1:1 replacement will work. Instead of paying $120 for the correct ratio, all you need is to figure what size gear will make your speedo correct and spend $8-9 instead. I forget the formulas now but the guys at Keen parts helped me figure mine out and speedo reads correct now. I...

    Underfloor insulation

I have used them and they are good folks! You can also look at Zip or (my favorite) Keen parts websites and use their online diagrams to help answer your question. I think there should be a space there.

    Brake job

Are you suggestingreplacing the springs without removing the shoes? If so he wouldn't need the tool I suggested but seems like it would be easier to take the shoes off? In either case you need a good drill and good drill bits for the rotors!

    Brake job

Yes, because you will need to remove the caliper which have a solid brake line which precludes you from simply loosening and moving it. I also recommend you purchase a inexpensive tool to R&R the shoe retainers. Especially since you are doing this job with the trailing arms on the car, it will...

Warning! Very Disappointed in Vette Brakes and Products.

I first did business with VBP mid year last year and then again recently and I see a marked difference. The tech support is still there but the customer service and parts issues are disappointing. I was never happy with the lack of shipping information from them either. I turned to Van Steel for...

    Rear wheel bearings questions

I agree with all of the above. After doing almost everything else to my '73, I decided to replace the rear brgs eventhough all seemed good.More research showed me I needed a rebuilt set or some professional help given the end play and pressing off and on issues. I did a lot of research and...

Heater box removal and inside flat heat "rivet" still holding it on

My '73 was a B**** to get out and was having a hard time putting housing back in with new core dur to angles water pipes vs. straight on design of factory studs. After an hour of fighting some bad words, I took the studs off and replaced with new nuts and bolts. Went in very easy. BTW, no AC...

What kind of rims are these?

I would go with American Racing also except they usually have their name on the spinner. Also, there is a rear stamping to ID them. AR makes this type wheel with both black and brushed centers and in a all chrome version.

    Dealer Invoice / Build Sheet

I found the one in my '73 on top of the gas tank when I removed the tank. Due to the way the filler neck cup is configured, I couldnt see it until the tank was lowered. It was really a thrilling experience finding that paper that had been there for 38 years!
