Weird electrical things happening yesterday on my '81. No rear running lights, no brake lights, no turn indicators.
Checked all the fuses, they look fine. In fact, after cleaning the contacts and putting them back, I got my turn indicators ... but still no brake lights or running lights...
Nice color combo, Steve! :w
Mine only had 42k when I picked it up last summer ('06). The biggest problem I found (there are lots of little ones...the car is 26, after all) was the dry rot in most of the rubber bushings. There was also a leak in the power steering valve and cyclinder...didn't...
Got the wrong link, apparently.
There is a version similar to that for the C3...and Eckler's claims they attach with little effort, right down to the built-in hanger.
Still, I'll check around.
I'm after that deep-throated rumble outside, quiet rumble in, and I don't want to set off car...
That's good to know. Thanks. Not looking to do anything but make it a pleasanter driveabout. Didn't buy it for its speed and power....;)

Any thoughts on those mufflers to replace the stock ones?
I have the Edelbrock performance manifold and matching 4bbl installed on my 81, and it has been a nice addition. Nothing earthshaking, but nice...which is all I was after. I've been thinking about the exhaust, but after rebuilding the power steering, and the rotted bushings on the front end, am...
My horns sounded anemic, too. Replaced them with OEM and they sounded better...but still pathetic (mine were up front, and they're easiest to reach from underneath, by the way).
Even though my horns are now brand new, does anyone know where I can find a really LOUD horn to replace them with? I...
I'm thinking Bud may be right. I did punch it a bit, when I got the chance. Two hours of bumper-to-bumper parade may have gotten to me (I'd much rather be on the open road somewhere). Didn't realize for a moment that the car had quit running, but got no crank at all when I went to restart it...
That's what I thought, too, Bill.
No electrical to the starter at all would seem to be the indication
when it won't crank...not even a click.

May have to postpone my inspection.
Just found out I have to be in Chicago by Friday.
:confused
Not sure heat had anything to do with it stalling...may have been a bit of hot-dogging on my part. :eyerole
But it would not crank at all when I went to restart. It was about 15 minutes later that I tried one last time, before the flatbed arrived, when it started. Still wondering why it would...
Went to the Woodward Dream Cruise in my '81 last Saturday, and everything was fine until the engine stalled about two hours into the cruise. When I went to restart, it wouldn't crank at all...no sound whatsoever from the starter.
A couple of kind folks pushed me around the corner, out of the...
I didn't use any grease. Couldn't even see what it was I was moving. Still seems to be working OK. If it goes bad again, will probably put a little white lithium grease in there, on the end of the screwdriver...I'd stay away from oil.
Small screwdriver and a bit of fumbling worked just fine. :D
Never could actually see what I was doing, but I felt it go back where it's supposed to, and the seat folds again, like it should. Thanks!
