My '04 coupe has nearly 90K miles under its belt and quite a while back I started noticing a howl coming from the rear of the car when driving along that got more pronounced as the car moved faster. I dismissed it as tire noise as the GS-D3's on the care had nearly 60K miles on them. Just put...
It's time for the third set of tires for my '04 coupe. I replaced the factory Goodyear Eagles five years ago with Goodyear GS-D3's on Hib Halverson's advising. Loved them and got tremendous mileage. Apparently they are no longer available or I would buy another set. So now the question is what's...
Thanks for the response. I'll take a look... This is a problem that only my wife experiences. She has to raise the seat high to see over the steering wheel! She says the seat falls back to the floor in a short period of time.
I'm thinking that it wouldn't be a good idea to tell her that she's...
Has anyone experienced problems with their C6 driver seat slowly repositioniong while the car is being driven? I know this sounds odd, but for some reason I must reposition the seat at least once in a half hour commute. Hey...I haven't gained that much weight!!
Hello!
My '04 Coupe is on the verge of 70,000 miles. It stll runs great, but the engine has never seen a tune up to date. I've kept up with the standard oil and fiter changes and drivetrain lubricants. My question is, when is it time for a full fledged tune up, and what do I want to have done...
Sometimes things are so easy to fix that it becomes difficult. You'll be happy to know that I replaced the old battery with the same Professional grade 86-6yr that came in it from the factory and now all is well with the world! DIC reads no issues and the column lock now operates as it should...
Thanks Hib...And if I understand correctly, the column will never lock once the dealer fix is performed? appreciate the feedback and I really enjoy your articals!

I think that maybe they did. Guess it can't reall hurt to replace the battery, right? I still have the original in the car. Getting ready to bring it out of the moth balls anyway...
Thanks again...
I am the original owner. I really don't remember taking the car in for this specific recall, but it has gone back for others. I also had the column serviced a few years ago for some active handling issues. I'll normally try to handle as much of the mechanical repair on the car as I'm capable of...
I'm sure that everyone is getting tired of mining this issue back up, but I have more questions, and I hope that someone can give me good advice. First, today I realized that it's been a long while since the column has actually locked on my '04 coupe. Is this a symptom of low voltage?
Second...
Come to think of it, a prompt did show up on the DIC immediately prior to the column lock prompt that said something like "charging system fault". Think the battery is going?
BTW, it is the original battery and the car has 62,000 miles. Thanks foir the response!
