Question: Need to Identify what these parts are, Brake Cylinder

Looks like your brake pressure warning switch broke. You'll have to unscrew the broken piece inside the master. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000050f~Z5Z5Z59590~P16.75~~~~S3C603WM2E18487011632a~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000050F# On the last pic. I believe that is the...

    Losing connection when datalogging

It's done it both on Tunerpro RT and Datamaster. I've got the trial version of Datamaster right now. The ALDL cable I have is Moates: ALDU1 and CABL1 XtremeALDL and NewCABL1 Combo [ALDU1_CABL1] - $80.00 : Moates.Net Moates suggested to leave the car off for more than 10 seconds when the data...

    Losing connection when datalogging

When you talk about the MPG cluster readings. Is that while datalogging, or just in normal driving? I know while datalogging, some of that stuff is messed up like I believe the MPG readings. I don't recall exactly which readings are messed up while datalogging, but I've read from others that...

    Losing connection when datalogging

I don't have any problems other than running lean and getting knock counts on acceleration after the engine has warmed up. Where is the serial data circuit? Yes, you need to turn on the 10k resistor to start the data flowing. Once the data is flowing you can turn off the 10k resistor. As with...

    Losing connection when datalogging

I was referring to late 80's i.e. 86-89. It happens on both Tunerpro RT and Datamaster. I did talk to Moates, but he said it had to do with the ECM that is used in the Vettes. And he had said I should be able to just shut the car off then back on then reconnect. But that doesn't work as you...

    Losing connection when datalogging

Does anyone have problems with losing connection with the ECM when datalogging? What will happen is the data will stop flowing while running a scan. It happens frequently where it can lose connection after only a few minutes of starting the datalog. You have to restart the car and reboot the...

BWD or Cardone Mass Air Flow sensor

Yeah, I've got a can of CRC Maf cleaner. That didn't do anything to the old Maf. Though that had already been cleaned anyways. I went ahead and sprayed the new Maf though.

BWD or Cardone Mass Air Flow sensor

Looks like the Maf was bad. I did the Code 33 tests, and that all passed. I checked that the purple wire at the Maf plug got 12V, and it got 14V with the engine running. I assume it means to get at least 12V. While doing the continuity and volt checks on the Maf plug, I bent the plug around to...

Proper lower radiator hose for 1989 is Gates 21727

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I was lucky as I was able to get the last upper and lower GM OEM hoses. They replaced 20 year old OEM hoses. Those GM hoses last and are thicker than aftermarket. Too bad they don't make them anymore.

Is the hose you ordered from Ecklers part number A3595?

BWD or Cardone Mass Air Flow sensor

What I said is that the MAF plug gets power on start up. That confirms full power is getting to the sensor as sometimes bad wiring can prevent full power getting to the MAF. It's just for a second that you see power when you turn the key to "on". That is the way it is supposed to work from the...

BWD or Cardone Mass Air Flow sensor

I'm not paying $700 for a Maf. Wells sells one for $1500. It's all aftermarket now anyways. I've read the new MAF's have a circuit board inside instead of the hot wire. Which means the tune will be different with a circuit board. So, I don't think paying extra for new would really be beneficial...

BWD or Cardone Mass Air Flow sensor

Last time I messed with it. It had been sitting for days and I started it up in open loop and it barely ran for a few seconds and stalled out. I unplugged the MAF, and I started it up and it held idle just fine all the way to 200* before I ended up shutting it off. It did the same thing a few...

BWD or Cardone Mass Air Flow sensor

It doesn't matter now about the BWD. The last one has already been sold. Can't get one. That's a myth about Napa having better parts. For the most part, they sell the same parts as everyone else. Though sometimes they do have parts others don't have. But the MAF at Napa is a Cardone. The...
