Help! speedo, gas smell, brake warning light

The fuel smell is more than likely is a result of a missing or poor performing vapor canister. On my 73, the canister was removed along with all its plumbing. There is a vapor line that runs from the top of the gas tank along the inside of the frame on the driver's side that is supposed to be...

Help! Engine and electrical system died while driving

Thanks. I'll check the fuse panel just above the driver's side floor board. I checked my manual and don't see any other fuses anywhere. Are there others I should check?

Help! Engine and electrical system died while driving

Hi gang, I need help. Finally had all the bugs worked out, and was taking the car to show it off for the first time at local car show. Running along at about 40 mph, when the motor quit along with all electrical. Battery has full charge (so its not the alternator). No interior lights, radio...

    Question: Bad Rag Joint

I don't disagree that you should replace the rag joint, but you can eliminate play in your steering by adjusting the screw on top of your steering box.

    Question: C3 fuse panel question

Thanks for the advice. I'm embarrassed to say I don't have a volt meter and don't know how to use one. That said, the tangs I'm talking about don't hold fuses. They are single tangs that are aligned vertically in the center of the fuse block. In any case, a volt meter is probably the way to...

After steering failure it keeps a grinding feeling when turning?

Hey there, two guesses: 1) Your belt isn't tight enough and the pulley stops spinning at low rpm. 2) I have just rebuilt my engine and have a new PS system. I am still working through timing issues, etc., but once I get the engine running, my next task is to balance the PS cylinder. The...

    Question: C3 fuse panel question

Hi gang, working on a few wiring projects this morning that require a connection to a 12 volt ignition source. I've already used the IGN. tang on the fuse panel. Just above that tang, there is an ACC tang, and 2 BAT tangs. Are these tangs constant 12v sources or will they only supply power on...

Bringing the Beast to Life Today!

Update: worked out all the leaks and got the motor timed and running well at idle. Still have some bugs to work out, like shielding the starter wires from the headers, and fine tuning the electric fan setup. Motor sound wicked! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?1ouerk

Bringing the Beast to Life Today!

After 2-1/2 years of work, we're cranking the motor on my 73 vette. My dad has driven 9 hours to see the car we started together 20 years ago finally come to life with a fresh new 435 hp 383. Wish us luck! --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?gbzuvu
