GM Press Release: GM teases details of new Corvette, unveils logo

I am 6'3" and have had an 87 convertible and 89 coupe, 02 Z06, and currently 07 Z06 so I speak from experience. The C4 was just crazy tight for me, and the C6 was a good improvement. However, the second I sat in the C6 I knew I had to have one as I fit so much better, and the Z06 even came...

News: "Drive Your Corvette to Work Day"

Looks like Mid America Motorworks got a lot of the pictures up now, including the one I sent them. Lots of cool Corvette pictures. http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-1-231.html -kg

    broken rocker arm

So far I have a list of 20 cars that have had this failure, all 2007 Z06, and of those that I know the build month (12), the build range was from JAN 2007 - JUN 2007. 2006 Z06 does not have magnetic drain plugs (except for maybe late build ones). 2007 Z06 has magnetic drain plugs. 2008 Z06 has...

    broken rocker arm

Needle bearings were discovered on the magnetic drain plug on my car when I took it in to the dealer for an oil change and a couple of other things. Car was built JAN 07 and had 3797 miles and cylinder #7 and #8 intake rocker arms were broken and replaced under warranty. Please post to this...

For the folks who've owned both C5 and C6 Z06s

I agree about the exhaust sound, too quiet at low rpm. My 02 Z06 sounded much better! The 07 Z06 has more of a quite growel at low rpm which I enjoy, but it is too quiet until you get over 3000 rpm as mentioned. I also tried to remove the exhaust baffle fuse, but it got really annoying with...

For the folks who've owned both C5 and C6 Z06s

Strange... I had a stock 02 Z06 and now a stock 07 Z06, and with the 02 I could get in and out of my driveway without dragging the front, but in the 07 I can not seem to find the right angle out of the driveway to not drag the front (not sure if it is the spoiler or the "splitter")... BTW...

    AXLE NUTS...FYI..

Thanks for the update on the loose axle nut issue. In May 07 I picked up 33 mm axle nut socket (the Pep Boys $12.99 one) and set torque wrench to 118 ft-lbs. Passenger side was tight, drivers side was slightly loose (1/6 turn to get click). No track or autox yet at the time, just some quick...

I picked up my new 2007 Z06 on Friday! :-)

I sold my 2002 Z06 last fall and picked up my new 2007 Z06 on Friday! I am very happy with my choice of Silver, Black/Red, 2LZ, and Polished Wheels. This is how it looked on Tuesday at the Chevy dealer right off the Allied car transport truck: I think my daughter likes the black/red...

Do you shift to neutral at stoplights?

I had my 2002 Z06 w/6K miles in for some warranty work (column lock recall, right door not unlocking, bad washer fluid censor, etc) and complained about how it sometimes will not go into 1st gear when I get the green light at a stop light and I have to start from 2nd. It is the case where it...

Helm service manual v.s. dealer manuals

It is a rather long and painful story, and this is the short version: The car quit running a while back and I took it to a dealer to get it fixed. I went to a dealer so I could also get the airbag warring light fixed that a Corvette shop was not able to fix and recommended me to go to a dealer...
