Everything you ever wanted to know about the LS7 engine

The quick answer is yes...it also applies to the 2014 to 2015 Z/28. I would say that you need to do the wiggle test and find out if there is any issue with the engine, as any high performance engine should be examined by a competent mechanic every year to two years to make sure there isn't an...

    Question: transmission

Hib is dead on, look at the Corvette Forum, use the Ranger method to put clean fluid in the clutch. Replace Clutch Fluid - Modified Ranger Method - CorvetteForum - Chevrolet Corvette Forum Discussion It normally takes three exchanges when I do the method for the fluid to look pristine. Once...

Everything you ever wanted to know about the LS7 engine

I too have a MAC, so easy. On a PC install pdf writer or similar free software, in some cases you chose to print to file as a pdf. Once you set up the print then it gives you an option to name the pdf. If you have adobe acrobat pro, it will do this as well.

    LS7 build done

Rl ERL Superdeck 1 is a 6 bolt truss for strengthening the LS7 block which also allows the use of thicker ductile iron sleeves, Seems to me with the use of their technology you can achieve a numbers matching 427 (like a resto-mod) with very high levels of boost. Normally I would agree; but I've...

    Orange Peel

I'm the technical director at a regional paint company out of Tulsa OK. We fight issues on orange peel and how well paints will wet the surface and level all the time. I'm just surprised that PPG and GM would allow some of the degree of orange peel I've seen. The three C7's I've seen up close...

GM Press Release: It's Official! 2015 Corvette Z06 coming to Detroit in January!

Like me then you appreciate the car w/o losing your head over the money. Thing is we also bought an "11 IOM ZL1; so we're having our fun with it as well. It was a development test bed for an aftermarket company; so we got a 900 RWHP camaro for less than you pay for the new car.... and a 2014...

GM Press Release: It's Official! 2015 Corvette Z06 coming to Detroit in January!

I agree, I'll - on the other hand will also laugh all the way to the bank - with the 2009 Z06 CGM 3LZ I bought with 750 miles for $52000 last December Vroom Vroom Vrooooooom! too pardner... thats about 50% of the actual costs of a ZR1:thumb Oh and it only has 1633 miles today.

    Orange Peel

I agree. :thumb I tried to speak to the issue over there and got told I was crazy to keep a "hosed LS7" on my low milage '09 Z06 (1600 miles) ovr spending 1K sanding a car?? No way would I spend the bucks on a new C7 unless it had perfect paint on my pre-purchase inspection. And absolutely no...

    Best Paint Color

Well thats just crap. I am a paint chemist, and orange peel is orange peel. What I've seen wouldn't get out of my lab. I've got to go look at a new C7 now; but its hard to understand how redefining a defect works. If my new cr looked like what I've seen at delivery..I'd refuse to take the car...

    Orange Peel

You have to be careful, I had my front clip, my doors and all edges where rocks/pebbles can intersect the paint wrapped with the premium Expel film, and have had zero issues. The surface of the '09 CGM looks perfect (no orange peel), and the film covered paint matches that same perfectly...

Retailers Who's Your Favorite and Why?

you ought to do a thread called: who's your least favorite Chevy dealer and why? Like taking your '09 CGM Z-06 to Jim Norton in Broken Arrow to get a clutch master cylinder fixed; then having them park a perfect car without a flaw in the parking area right by their customer service where any...

    Orange Peel

Amazing thread, my '09 CGM Z-06 has perfect paint, and 1630 miles. How could Chevy let PPG screw up so badly on the paint. This is the flagship car, now I've got to stop and look at the '14 parked around the corner at my work here in Tulsa. Of course the C6 Z06's have had a dropped valve issue...
