Is it just me, or does the fact that the dealer said the codes were "erased already", sound fishy? I thought the codes stayed, until they were explicitly erased? OP didn't mention clearing them.
Plus, why would the dealer need to drive it for three days?
Maybe the OP should try another...
FWIW, I've had the Nitto's on for almost two weeks now, and I'm quite pleased. I've driven the Vette every day since putting them on, so I could get a good feel for the new rubber. I drive fairly aggressively on the street, nothing crazy though. After all, I am a law abiding citizen... The...
Well, after some additional research here and another forum, which shall remain nameless, I decided to go with the Nitto's. There were plenty of comments about them, almost all positive. I know that's anecdotal, but I don't think most of these posts were from anyone with an agenda, so I give...
So, I decide to go with the Eagle F1 GS-D3's, and I call up my local Goodyear shop. I've dealt with them before, so I have a reasonable comfort level. I explain that I want to get new tires for my '96 and he immediately pushes the Nitto's on me. So I ask about the Eagles and he says he an get...
That's good info, thanks. I don't think I would expect something like that from the tire company. When something bad happens to me, I don't immediately look elsewhere to place blame and receive compensation.
I've only taken her over 100 twice, and I don't really plan to again... but I didn't...
I can even go with Bridgestone Expedia S-01, available locally at Wheelworks. They look like they'd be just under $1450 out the door.

These are not Z rated, they're R rated. The GY's are Z rated. How fast do I need to go...
Further research has revealed a possibly greater selection than when I originally posted my question. For example, I went to the Pep Boys web site and searched by tire size. They had some Bridgestone Potenzas in the front wheel size, but not the rear wheel size, which left me with the Nitto...
Thanks to all for your comments and feedback!
If they made the BFG's in the correct size for my '96, I'd have gone with them and not posted! I've had BFG's on a few cars in the past, and have been pleased with their performance and durability. The only experience I have with Continentals is...
I've had my '96 LT4 for almost 6.5 years now, and it's time for new tires. Trying to search here for info about C4 tires yields a ton of posts with the word tire in them, but looking through them has not proven to be that useful, info wise, as posts with the word tire can be about almost...
According to this (Important Production Dates for 2 16 and 2 17 Corvette - Corvette: Sales, News & Lifestyle) the 2016 production end date is June 24th, with the last order date being May 12th.
I know this thread isn't exactly new, but what the heck, I'll throw in my $0.02. I prefer a manual, because it's more fun to drive, imo. I'm 55, so perhaps with some more life experience and/or joint related issues, my opinion of fun may change.
I do agree that the manual is on its way out...
I can't believe I didn't see this thread sooner!
The thing about the LT4 that I find the most enjoyable is that it feels like it has a lot of power. If feels a little raw, like it wants to run. The C5 is more refined in terms of the ride and how the engine feels. I'm talking about 'seat of...
I guess until I know, I'll just have to hope they wouldn't try to gouge me that much. Until it gets north of $500, I'd probably feel un-violated. :L
I don't mean to sound petty (as opposed to actually being petty, which I have no problem being) but things like that irritate me to the point...
I hadn't asked about that, and naturally they had not volunteered it. I've got a message in to find out.
We could assume they charge about $350 - $500. I'd say that leaves them plenty of room for profit.
I would also assume they low-balled the person that traded it in. I'd like to work...
2013 GS Still Available
I sort of cooled on this Vette, not so much because of the Vette itself (I still think it looks pretty dayum good) but because the dealer said they couldn't put the original rims back on it. He said their tire shop couldn't handle it. It's a Chevy dealer, so I found...
