Luiparra
Born in Havana, Cuba, 1951. Came to the US via Spain in 1966, age 15. Attended Emerson HS in Union City NJ, then attended College NYIT, NYC and graduated 1976, same year Married wife Margarita and had (3) children, all grown, married and out of the house now. Purchased my first Corvette in 1992, a 1976 Coupe, Auto, followed by a 1974 coupe, 4 speed, followed by a 1986 Convertible, Auto, followed by most recent prior Vette, a 1985 Coupe, 4+3. Got tired of shifting and last July purchased this 2008 Coupe, Auto with 6 speed paddle shift. I always loved Corvettes ever since I saw one up close, a sparkling brand new 1968 Vette parked in front of a local Grocery Store where we used to hang out as a teenager and play tac-football while traffic was flowing and buses stopping and picking up passagers, it was fun and challanging. The day I saw this 1968 beauty, I fell in love with the fish and have been to this day.
Moved to Miami, Florida in 1979, sort of a home town for me, but have been moving up the State due to different work assignements for the same company I have been with since 1984. I now reside in St. Johns County, St. Augustine, FL where I work semi-part-time for this same company. Winters are different in this part of Northern Florida, so from here, we will probably be moving down south after I fully retire (to warmer weather) People here in the St. Augustine/Jacsonville area don't regard area as Florida, but Southern George instead.
I am planning on being a Vette owner until I die, even if I don't have a garage to keep the Vette in when we decide to move to a condo to downgrade our housing needs. In the mean time, wife and I are enjoying our rides in this newer beauty 2008 Coupe, Crystal Red Metallic. Thank God for this country and all the blessings bestowed upon me and my family. Forgot to mention, my 8 yo grandson Jacob loves my Vette.
