Question: C6 Gas Fumes after fill up

Gas fumes Thank you SCIP54, for some unknown reason, mine has stopped doing it ever since I had some major repair done to the differential box, the service advisor said the mechanic found a vent line open/disconnected and it rarely does it anymore. If you read the email trail, you will find...

How old is the "average" C6 buyer?

Old Vetter I am 63, soon to be 64 and I had Vettes since I was 42 years old. In 1993 I bought my first, a 1976 Stingray Auto/PS/PW/AC, and PWR windows. I had to restore 50% of it so it wasn't too bad and I really enjoyed it even though it only made 10 MPG on a good day and easy on the gas...

    Question: C6 Front Facias/bumper cover

Are there any minor or slight differences between years for the front facias of Base C6 Corvettes? I know very well the ZO6 and Grand Sport models have air scoops and lower lips/effects which the Base models don't have. I ask this because I keep noticing that my 2008 has a slight drooping at...

Question: Does anyone hear rattles in their C6 Targa tops?

Mine didn't do it until it had around 60K miles. It now has 75K and I have put up with this rattling since then. At the beginning I thought it was the sunvisors rubbing on the plastic bezel of the roof latches, but scratched that. I thought it would be a cracked weld in the windshield frame...

Question: Does anyone hear rattles in their C6 Targa tops?

DELAMINATION ? (Targa Top Rattle issues) Was the delamination visible or internally. How did they diagnosed the delamination? I read your reply and immediately took my targa top off and examined it, don't see any growth in the thickness or delamination. The "C" clip fix is doable and I...

Question: Does anyone hear rattles in their C6 Targa tops?

My 2008 coupe has annoying rattles when car is moving at any speed and turning, going through bumps, etc. I removed the top and noticed that the pins were loose, so I tightened them, dressed them up with a little grease and the rattles went away. However, they came back after a couple of...

    Question: Shocks bad at 56K

Simplicity If I could order a brand new C7 without all the gadgetry that is tackled on to these newer models, I would. Don't need no HUD, power seats or windows, memory seats, heated seats, cameras, ride control, trip computer, auto this or auto that, etc. Vettes should have stayed simple...

    Question: Shocks bad at 56K

Shocking! Paul, Ecklers should be able to tell you where the module is or it should be included in the instructions with the kit. What happens if you install the replacement shocks and leave the wire alone? Another thought; the blue wire should be close to the shocks because it controls the...

    Question: Shocks bad at 56K

Shocking! I have a 2008 Base Coupe with 72K miles, and is fine. But I just read about the C7's soon-to-happen recall for rear shocks leaking. Could this be something that they new but now they are bringing it up because of all the turmoil about previous unreported problems? I don't know who to...

Front end mod. Save bump guards and 3 piece splash guard

Sketch available? Hi JakesVette24, Do you have a sketch you can email me as attachment?. I have already done those scrapess thousand times and the pain runs through my spine all the time it does. I also bumped the bumper cover into a parking lot step up sidewalk and to my luck it didn't have...

    Help! Locked Out!

Hood Latch Perhaps there is an easier way to get to the Hood Latch or cable without having to drill any holes, open the hood, change or charge the battery and then you can open the doors and trunk. Just a thought.

Differential Service on a C6 - Base car

Well, not quite that simple!!!! After I had the service, which seemed to alleviate the previous modest rocking every time I backed out of the garage and when engine was cold, it all went downhill after 140 miles of driving to South Fla. I didn't get there and had to visit Rosner Chevrolet in...

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

C6 is my favorite. I have onwed (2) C3's, (2) C4's and now I have a C6. It is the best Corvette I have ever owned (none were purchased new), but my latest is a dream at 70K miles on the odometer. Problems? they all have them, even GEO's, Malibu's or Impala's. I am not particularly fund of the...

Differential Service on a C6 - Base car

Diff Service completed Thank you all, the service was completed and no more rocking or chattering. It was serviced at the dealership and the technician informed me that he had to flush it twice as it was pretty dirty. No wonder! Peace! Luiparra
