I have been reading some other posts and it seems that replacing the trans fluid with Redline ATF takes care of this gear grinding problem. I've also read about some issues with the shift fork being aluminum and bending. My Vette has about 43000 miles on it so it probably is time to replace...
I have a 2K convertible with 6spd and would like to know if there is an adjustment for the clutch? When I shift from 2nd to 3rd, 4th to 6th, or 5th to 6th, I get a grinding noise. It started with just the 4th to 6th shift, but now it is doing on the above shifts as well. Ideas anyone??
Anyone have the GM part numbers for the intake plenum gaskets. Planning on pulling the plenum soon to fix an oil leak. And, yes I know I can get these from White Racing, but I prefer GM. Thanks.
From what I've read, the new recall only addresses cars that CAN be driven with the column locked. What about the PITA issue of being stranded because your column lock DIDN'T unlock and you can't move your car. Didn't the above repair kits (PN 88952427 for auto and PN 88952428 for manual)...
One other thing, has anyone tried the Kumho Ecsta MX run-flat? Tirerack.com sells these for $159 (front) and $217 (rear). That's about $500 cheaper for a set of 4 compared to OEM Goodyear run-flats and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S run-flats!
Thanks for the feedback guys! Can anyone reply back to the Michelin and Yoko run-flat tire model they are using. I was on the Tirerack.com site and I didn't see a run-flat by Michelin?? Also, if you are using Michelin run-flats, are you happy with them and how many miles are you getting out of...
I've been doing alot of searching on this site and tirerack.com for run-flat replacements for my 2K convertible. Not happy with Goodyear OEM tires, but haven't found a run-flat tire as a replacement to the OEM either. I thought Michelin made a run-flat, but couldn't find it. I'm also sort of...
How does it know which remote is for driver #1 and driver #2 for a 2K Vette? I believe for the newer C5's (2001-2004), the remote has "driver #1" or "driver #2" printed on the remote. This is not the case for a 2K remote.
