I don't know about that but I do know that the master cylinder from a 85 one ton truck is machined on the proper angle for our cars along with having the exact hole placement for mounting. In my 75 all holes were already drilled and all I had to do was shorten the linkage. On the 78 the holes...
I have done this swap a number of times and talked alot of member through it. For the clutch go hydraulic with a 85 one ton truck master cylinder and matching slave cylinder.
This 85 one ton master is almost a drop in deal with only a linkage change.
I too recommend going the 5speed route but I...
I am into my second year with the extenders and find they work great. I don't worry about burnt spark plug boots anylonger. With my raised exhaust ports it is really alot worse then stock heads.
yes I like the extenders, they worked for me and I would recommend them.
I have coilovers on all 4 corners.
while the rear shocks are in the stock location nothing from the original mounting was used. I run 450 pound springs on the back 10 inches long and they are on the soft side.
This is two links to installing the jeep box.
This thread talks about it:

Another poster said that he found a pitman out of a 70s-era Cadillac or Olds:

These links only seem to work if...
I had the option of going either way, the jeep box or steroids and after carefully looking into both two very knowledgable guys, one being Twin turbo advised me to go the jeep route.
For those paying for a system the jeep box route is 1/2 the price of steroids and I honestly believe it is...
You don't need a set, just for the cylinders that have a problem. Dropping a cylinder while cruising is really bad for the motor. The cylinder gets gas washed while you limp home.
They really take the boot out of harms way and since these are pure porceline they can lay directly on the header...
Guys here is my recommendations for fitting a plug.
First I found my 5/8th plugs are .410 diameter and my 13/16 plugs are .450 Since the extenders are .445 maximum it would not fit my larger 13/16 plugs.
If I was getting the extenders for the first time I would pull the plug that it is...
Most of us run into a bad plug or two. I ran into 3 bad plugs with my new raise port heads. Previously I had 2 problem plugs and went with Jacob ceramic boots. While they solved the problem of burn boots I still had a problem with the wires running under the headers right next to the block and...
I wouldn't beat on it with a hammer. While the pitman arm might look good it can't be good for the bushings in the steering box not to mention destroying a control valve. I ran into this alot too and used a puller.
Any time force is used something gets damaged.
A line lock is also handy on the hills with the standard. Really prevent rolling back. I often just touch the linelock while waiting a light with my foot off the brake. Handy for other things then burnouts.
Gary I am doing 2 rearends at present and your paper and training have been invaluable. I follow your methods and find my setting up of the posi clutches great.
I checked with a local speed shop that has been in business for over 40 years and they don't have a clue how to shim the side gears...
I am running two Jacob ceramic boots presently and have been for alot of years. I just like the looks of these extenders and it makes putting the wires on easier. I am willing to spend the money in search of a better idea.
Only time will tell if it is wasted or not. I had them send by regular...
I ordered 3 of them for testing and will certainly post pictures and my impressions on how they work for me. If they work as claimed they could really help alot of people with burnt spark plug boots.
Those high speed runs are going to begin in another 2 or 3 weeks. The 3 of us as all firing our...
