Did i install this distributor right?

Well i have the clamp loosened up because i was messing with it. Balancer is on zero and piston 1 is at the top of its stroke. How do i confirm if this is the compression or exhaust stroke? I guess it shouldnt come up again if i want the compression stroke

Did i install this distributor right?

Problem is that the distributor will turn without the rotor. I could point the rotor at cyl 1 and still spin the distributor all over the place while keeping the rotor there. I was hoping somebody could confirm that the distributor appears to be in the same position as theirs. Ive tried every...

how do I test the maf? I don't want to just throw a 200 dollar sensor at it. then again im deep enough that it doesn't really matter. the timing cover is still off so when the new timing set shows up I will re assemble and test maf.

that was motor off. it held the pressure for quite some time. I walked away for probably 10-15 minutes and it stayed pegged.

1989 wont start - covered all the bases

so about 2 weeks ago my car stopped running on my way home from autocross. it has not run since. BEFORE it stopped running I did a thorough tune up: new plugs, new wires, new cap/coil combo, new rotor, new pcv valve, and new air filter I thought this was a distributor problem so I replaced...
