I understand that to break even, the government would have to get around $70 per share. Why are they selling is beyond me unless they think GM is doomed and are just cutting their losses. It is strange.

Rather than the bankruptcy route I imagine you will see GM paying out a lot of money. Obama would probably see to
that rather than see his old deal scuttled.
GM Oshawa Gone?
As of now, GM Oshawa has nothing at all on the books to build after 2016. Could be the end of the Oshawa complex. The 3+ million square foot truck plant shut down production a few years ago. It's not looking good for Oshawa right now.
