Try changing brand of gas. Chevy says this is due to high surphur (sp?) in fuel causing spikes which are misread.
I can't use AMMCO, EXXON is okay. BUT, even brands could vary in different parts of the country.
I recommend the 2002 or later Z06 airbox cover. Best bang for the $ (only $48). If you are under 405 hp, it will increase hp and sound great too. Dyno proven to be within few hp of any air intake system. Plus its OEM and designed for no water ingestion. I use a paper filter, some use a...
I think the 2002 or later Z06 airbox cover is the best bang for the $ ($48). It improves hp and sound. If you are under 405 hp, it will do great, dyno proven. Plus its OEM and designed for no water ingestion problems.
I strongly recommend the 2002 or later Z06 airbox cover. I got mine from Ken Fictner's Chevy too. Only $48, best bang for $. If you are under 405 hp, you will feel and hear a difference. It's been dyno proven to match other more expensive filters. Plus its OEM and no water ingestion...
I highly recommend the 2002 or later Z06 Air Filter Lid. It's about $48 and performs and sounds great. If you are under 405 hp, it should help a lot. Dyno results show great improvement. I use a paper filter, but you can go to a K&N (watch MAF oil problems). This filter lid is OEM and is...
The DELCO battery in my 1995 Pontiac Bonneville leaked acid.
I have replaced my C5 battery with a Champion XLT (an AGM battery) bought at SAMS Club for $95. It's size DT35 with 690 CCA and 850 CA, which is more than OEM. It's warrenteed for 108 months with 36 months free replacement and...
885 bulbs make a difference. Also aim the foglights properly. Use a 15 Tork screwdriver, from about 25-35 feet, aim them justbelow your low beam headlights.
I too bought 4 aluminum ones. I didn't like how flexible the others were.
I threw 2 in the car just in case I need them.
But to jack up the car. I only use one, just to get it high enough on one side to place a jack under back and jack it up.
I drive the front up on rhino ramps and slide...
I agree with 78SilvAnniv, a car that has been regularly driven and properly maintained is better than a garage queen.
Actually a vette with high mileage, indicating long highway trips is probably better. Highway mileage is much better than short trips / city mileage.
Now, if there are...
I got the wheels. Before I modded my driveway, I needed them. They definately keep bars from being scrapped, and HELP front (it can stll scrape under painted front). Also if you pull too close to parking blocks, curbs, etc. they will ride up nicely for you.
If you need them, get them...
Mine did that once, using throttle up a hill.
Several guys have fixed this by using a Ford Taurus windshield washer check valve in washer line. Hopefully vette won't reject "transplant".
Where did you order it ? I might get one for my 1998. I have the Factory paper shop manual, but it takes so long to find the section you are looking for. If the CD is cheap enough, I may buy one. It would be easier to search electronically.
Did you know if you register (for free) your vette...
For a low cost solution, consider a 2002 Z06 Air Filter box. It has a large hole in the front. If it is good enough for 405 HP LS6, it will do just fine on stock LS1. It's about $50 new.
Most C5's do this, my 98 does it mainly while idling. I think C5's have poor voltage regulators, they may even use the computer as a voltage regulator.
A friend of mine "blinks" so bad while he is driving it that people pull over to the side of the road ahead of him !
By the way I have a new...
