i'm in the process of getting a used corvette. i love the C3 styling, but i am going to go with the C4 for suspension and engine reasons. thing is, it is so hard to find a C4 with a manual tranny. people must not want to part with the manuals or something? or back in the day, everyone chose...

thanks for the replys folks. its really helpful. i'm still interested in the '85 even if it does have an odd tranny. should find out today about the car. if we get it, i'll be in touch with you muddy about modifiying the switch!!

thanks jon. i did see that link, just wasnt 100% clear. for '85 model, 2nd and 3rd "no throttle kickdown" is different than the other years. is there a real difference in how the car performs in these 2 gears?

my wife and i are looking at purchasing a '85 vette (never owned a vette before), with a 4+3 tranny. how exactly does the 4+3 trany work? my understanding is that in 2nd through 4th, the car will electronically "shift" to OD, based on amount of throttle being used. is this correct?
