:beer Lucky you! Nothing I found was anywhere near the midwest for ANY kind of money. :mad
I didn't want to chop up my car (I'm 6' 5" and a compliant rollbar would have made a soft top unuseable.) And all the the rollbars that didn't require massive surgery weren't safe.
Actually, I think you'll find the smoothline is about twice the price. Plus, it won't pass tech due to not having any appreciable rollover protection. (NHRA classes the vert as a coupe with the factory top installed.)
That's harder than you'd think, Hardtops are a (relatively) hot commodity. MY hardtop originally didn't come with the hardware (The woman couldn't find them and the husband wasn't available to point them out to her. I found them after looking through their garage myself. Kind of a sad story.)...
There's a year breakdown (89?) where the cars before that don't have the right parts to mate up a later hardtop...but it's a rectifiable problem as the parts can be replaced.
If you can get the halo brackets with the top, you'll be MUCH farther ahead. Also, there's a deck-lid cover that cleans...
Bit the bullet. Bought the Pro Stick and a 4 gear plate. So, where'd you get the firehose? Jegs and Summit don't list it.
Course, I really need to support the local speedshop. I'll just give 'em a call. How long a length did you use?
Stellar looking exhaust mseven! Sooo if the rear cable exit didn't do it for you, what did you end up with?
Of course, now that I go try to research, Hurst has CHNAGED ALL THE FRIGGEN NAMES. They're now 'quarter-stick', 'v-matic', and 'pro-matic.' :mad
Wait...scratch that, those are Hurst...
Is that with the stock 5 foot (4 foot?) cable that comes with the kit?
Now that I think about it, the original routing let the cable come vertically up and through the wiring loom bracket. That may have been why it stayed put so well.
First time, I had the cable routed in two big 'S' bends, so the cable came nearly straight up and back, that must have been the best way to route it as it survived for a couple of years. Incidentally, I think I placed too much force onthe cable and shifter, and yet managed to get the system...
I've now gone though two shifter cables (melted) and the Megashifter I installed a few years back (like, 2500 miles ago) cannot be adjusted to shift the transmission correctly.
In a little light Googling, I've found Lokar makes shifters, that appear to have a short, stout cable, but no gate...
If it occurs to you, ask 'em what back-flushing means. Does it mean they blow out the INSIDE of the radiator for corrosion, or do they blow out the OUTSIDE of the radiator removing debris picked up from driving on the road.
I've always wondered and never bothered to ask. :D
When the car is HOT (250 or so) carefully squeeze the top hose. If the thermostat's stuck closed that hose will be drum tight and VERY hot. With a properly operating, pressurized system, you should still be able to squeeze that hose.
What is the age and vintage of the radiator? When my 89 was...
A number of years ago I installed a hot motor, a hot tranny, and a B&M megashifter. I think I was lucky in that I installed a bracket wrong, did _something_ right and managed to adjust the system so that everything worked dependably, with the exception of first gear. With the rear gear, 1st was...
