The first generation sensor works on 97- 00. The second generation sensor works 01-04. To answer your question, the 04 sensors will not work on your 00 C5.

I just wanted to add, make sure the car is level after you get the front and rear up on jack stands in order to get an accurate reading.

Let's just say anything sounds better then the stock exhaust. Like jrose7004 said, the Z06 exhaust is much lighter. I replaced the stock exhaust on my 98 with the Z06 exhaust and I like it. I wasn't looking for loud, just a little more rumble. As Roc pointed out, everybody has different tastes.

Yes it can be reprogrammed for your car. Just a note. When you program the one from your friend the one you already have will have to be programmed also. Just do one as FOB 1 and the second as FOB 2 and you should be fine.
