My 98 oil pressure will vary with RPM and Oil Temps. At start (idle) with <100 F, I get around 50 psi, but that drops as the oil temp moves up. I've seen as low as 40 psi with oil temp >200 F at idle.
PM or e-mail me for more details about fixing the parking brake. I had to replace mine due to a failure in the handle. Its symptoms were: No resistance when pulling up, would not stay in the 'engaged' position, nothing was wrong at the rear wheels. The design was changed after MY99 and the...
Thanks Jane Ann! I should have checked there, sorry for being lazy.
:w
And the issue with my serpentine is not the squeak, it walks off the tensioner pulley the idler is apparently what is making the noise
Hi and welcome! You have a ton of power under your foot. I will assume that your 98 is stock so the following applies:
Your TCS is active unless you get a DIC message and an idiot (Dash Cluster Icon) light, so that's not the cause of the wheel spin.
Dry roads?
How's the tread on your...
Pac Man, I have the same issue on my 98. I ordered a new tensioner from the dealer, but could you send me the tech advisory please? I will do the R&R but all info I can get will help out. Thanks in advance.

I did the DynaMaxx. Work very well, but unless you have access to a lift, its not the easiest DIY. Some LT's are easier to install than others, so check around. The DynaMaxx's were really easy, a bit time consuming, to install. The only issue I had was getting the front end up >36" so the...
ahh, yea but, I put Dyna Tech LT's on my 98 and within 3 weeks had to car the car in for its annual inspection, which includes emmissions test. Passed with no problems. So, personnaly, there are other LT's out there that are emmission compliant. IMHO
Nothing will happen! With that said, you will get a TPS malfunction error on the DIC, but with an 02, you can program that out of the PCM so the DIC error message never comes up, but until then the error message might drive you nuts.
its been my experience that a CAI will improve the ' seat of the pants' feel with some HP gains. The 'cat-back' will do not much more than change the sound, but a new exhaust header system, like long tube headers will provide an increase in RWHP.
It may be possible that the battery in your TPS is going. Since its a 98 and the batteries are good for ~7 years (10 years on the Gen II TPS), I'm guessing you will need to replace the sensor(s). There is a DIY home remedy to just replace the battery, but personnaly, I just changed out the...
I served aboard USS Enterprise and we had a MarDet. Glad you guys went along for the ride. Great comic relief. I'll have to share a story about them with you.
Thanks for your service, semper fi to you and the rest of the Corps!
