Yep. Everything was good and it all went out at once. I changed the dimmer switch today and I now have headlights and brake lights, but still no tail lights or dash lights.
They must be talking about the upper and/or lower control arm bushings. Nothing else would cost that much. You could try the job yourself, but it's pretty involved. I would call around and get quotes from different shops. Better yet...upgrade to poly bushings or a complete VBP kit for not too...

That's pretty ironic. I have almost the exact same issue, but I have no headlights, brake lights, dash or tail lights.
Today I replaced the dimmer switch and now I have headlights, but nothing else. Try that.
