I think you answered your own question. You get what you pay for. If you plan to live with it, then I would do it right with quality materials the first time. It's your money and your ride though. .02

The button will pop out by taking a tweeker (really small flathead screwdriver) or similar device a gently prying it up from the leather knob. Do this on the front or back side. Be careful not to scratch it or tear the leather. If I remember correctly there is only a snap ring holding the knob...
