    Rubber fuel lines 1976

There is a metal fuel line that runs from the gas tank to the fuel pump. It runs along the top of the frame rail on the passenger side of the car. You have rubber hose that connects the gas tank to the fuel line. At the fuel pump, you have another rubber hose connection from the metal fuel line...

    L- 88/L-89/LS-6 Exhaust Manifold Question

What I really need to do is dig into the GM parts manuals and shop manuals to see if there is a difference in exhaust manifold bolts between a cast iron head and a aluminum head and if there is a difference in exhaust manifold bolt torque values between a cast iron head and a aluminum head...

Help! 69 Overheating - Big Block

When you got the seal kit, did you get the big rubber seal that goes across the top of the radiator support? It seals the the top of the support against the hood. When I redid the seals on my '69 BB, that particular seal wasn't part of the kit and was sold separately.

    76 with no radio

I have seen places that offer such services in Hemmings, but don't know of anyone who has gone that route. I have heard of some negatives associated with a guy here in Houston who does such conversions. I went with the Classic to replace the broken aftermarket one that was in my '69. It was an...

    L- 88/L-89/LS-6 Exhaust Manifold Question

Thanks to all for the input. This will give me something to research more.

    Xbox steering wheel

Correct me if I'm wrong, but thought for '76 that only the standard non tilt/tel column got the Vega steering wheel. If you ordered T/T in a '76, you got a standard Corvette wheel as used in earlier models. I also think that the earlier T/T column is a direct swap into a '76 with a standard column.

    L- 88/L-89/LS-6 Exhaust Manifold Question

Thanks for the info Mikey. Seriously planning a ZZ454 crate motor and want to use the stock exhaust manifolds. Got lucky with the flood water clean up, only about 4 inches in shop, and cars were 18 inches above that. Have all kinds of crap that floated out of who knows where to pick up. Only...

    76 with no radio

I have one of the Classic Autosound radio that Tom refers to in my '69. It is one of the original appearance type radio. It has Bluetooth like what you are looking for. I use my with a MP3 player. It fits and looks like an original radio, but typical of aftermarket radios, it has its own wiring...

    L- 88/L-89/LS-6 Exhaust Manifold Question

On the aluminum head big block engines, were the exhaust manifolds installed the same as the ones on cast iron heads? Did they use the same manifold bolts and were they torqued to the same torque value as the bolts on a cast iron head? And did they use a gasket between the aluminum head and the...

    Bubba strikes again

The seat belt bolts, I believe, are not Corvette specific. I think you could find those in any '70's - 80's GM passenger cars. Of course, being down under may affect local availability....

    Mystery part.

I have two '72's, one coupe and one vert, both have power windows. I have not seen anything like that on either car.

    Control arm bushing "washers"

Looking in the 1976 GM Corvette parts manual: Original GM part number for the upper control arm bushing retainier was 3710586 (group 6.163). Googling "GM #3710586" turned this up: 1967-1968-1969 Camaro Control arm bushing washer kit - 1967, 1968, 1969 Camaro Parts - NOS, Rare, Reproduction...

Will wider tires fit my 77?

Yea, the P-255's were optional on '78's. The car I bought back in '78 was a L-82 4 Speed FE-7 car with the P-255's tires on 8" ralleys. On the front, the fender well lip was factory cut back flush with the side of the inner fender. The lip was cut back for tire clearance, as the FE-7 cars sat a...
