Bud,
As you might have noticed, it's been a while since I have been on the CAC. I've lost a bit of proficiency in the CAC search department and so when I found the 50th AE website and found this tidbit of info, I was just couldn't wait to get them out and compare the difference. I have since...
I picked up a 2003 AE coupe a couple weeks ago, and not having driven a C5 before, the ride seemed good. I have a C3 and had a C6 so comparisons are difficult. Well I just got back from my local dealership, and after ten years :ugh, the shock stuffers have finally been removed. What a...
Gerry,
Part of the problem was that I expected to see a vacuum tube similar to what was coming out of the sensor and by the looks of what was there, I thought it had been cut. When you pointed me to the carb, I saw the short rubber tube with the narrow plastic tubing running out. The other...
small success
I found the thin vacuum tube from the carb and reconnected to the map sensor. I think what may have happened is that it got removed during the valve cover gasket replacement (one of many things in the way) and it being so small, got overlooked. Thanks goes out to the CAC folks...
trouble shooting continues
Gerry, I appreciate the insights. I'm currently scratching my head again. I pulled the cover off the firewall with the map sensor in there and the vacuum hose is just a short, cleanly cut stub not going to anything. If this is apparently how it has been since I...
OK folks, After enjoying six years of relatively trouble-free crusiing, the old girl is beginning to finally show her age. Here's the history:
About a year ago: new plugs, wires, dist cap, replaced a broken exhaust manifold bolt (driver side), plugs that were in the car were just a tad colder...
I recently replaced plugs, wires, and cap. The old plugs were slightly colder than called for and must have been installed by PO. Replaced with correct ones. Now the Check Engine Light comes on at idle and goes out when cruising (auto trans). I thought maybe after a few tanks of gas the ECM...
That's odd! What are the odds of both tires being in almost exactly the same position after pulling in the driveway? Tell the truth. You jacked her up and rotated that rear one to match the front just for your babies photo-op. ;LOL
I always wave. If I have enough time, I give 'em a wink too when I'm in the C3. My '81 has a lazy headlight and I can get the driver's light to come up and go down before the passenger light knows what's going on.
Nice color! Good lookin' car. I gotta ask....when you leave burnout marks in the road, do you call them raybee's shots? :L
Good luck with the paint job.
Just when I thought I reached a peak in my life, I'm going to have to wait some time to drive the new ride. I tore my left Achilles tendon last week and can't use the clutch. :ugh I haven't gotten the full story from the doc yet, but it looks like it's going to be a while. Thank goodness I...
Welcome Neal! 81's rock. We don't need no stinkin' chrome bumpers ;LOL
Must say one of the best weekends I ever had started in Staten Island. My ship pulled in there for the Desert Storm homecoming parade. We were on the opposite side of the pier from the USS Wisconson (16" guns are...
