    Muffler replacement

To make the job easier you need to put it on a hoist to get the clearance you will need.

I have a 2002 and bought the chrome rims you mention. The fit perfectly and look great.

C-5 12 disk CD changer troubles

I have noticed similar things. Because I only use copied (legally) CD's in my stack I can not comment on how originals might hold up. Generally I notice that the CD's work fine until I use them when cornering aggressively. This seems to be the cause of most of my CD problems. When it happens, I...

    Tire sensors

Don't know for sure, but I'd be surprised if the warranty was not still in place with a tire brand change.

    Help, C4C5 Specialist . . .DIC code

Causes from the manual all relate to the VSES (Vehicle stability enhancement system) detecting a steering assist problem (for example: understeer, oversteer, too much yaw etc.). In simple form, as I see it, that nice system that helps you steer through corners etc. (especially when you're...

    P0480 code Check Engine

According to my manual this affects the cool fal 1 relay. This code is set if any of these are detected for at least 5 seconds - short to ground, short to voltage, open circuit, open relay coil, internally shorted relay coil. It suggests that you check the affected wiring harness and...

Amount of storage in a C5

Golf clubs will fit into the convertable. I personally find the trunk on the convertable more useful than the rear hatch area on the coupe. I can easily fit an enormous amount of luggage into it for touring. I also like having my stuff out of sight in the trunk. In the coupe you can pull the...

    Cleaning White Convertible Top

Looking for hints on cleaning a white convertible top. I have tried the usual of various household soaps with brushes etc. What I'm really hoping for is that someone will have come across a commercial cleaner which works well for a white top. Many thanks.

Shudder taking off from a stop

I agree with the reply above. In my experience the problem is most probably with either the pressure plate and/or the throw out bearing.

What oil filter do you use in your C5?

Fram filter, Mobile 1 oil every 3000mi/5000km. I believe that changing oil often is the best and cheapest, in the long run, regular maintenance.

    Backup lights...??

I had a similar problem after using my emergency flashers once. It took awhile to stumble on the solution, but it self corrected after cycling the flashers on and off once or twice. I don't know if this will help you, but it can't hurt and is cheap to try.

    Front License Plate How To?

I mounted my front plate on the air dam under the front bumper (got the idea from a couple of club members who had done the same thing). To make the job easier I ran the front wheels up on a simple pair of ramps for easier access to the air dam. I had to trim the plate a bit so that it would fit...

    Blinker Problem

The hazard lights can cause more problems than just with the signal lights. For me they knocked out my brake lights after using the hazards one day. The fix was to recycle the hazard lights (although it took me a while to stumble onto that). After talking to a few people, hazard light initiated...
