    My reverse problem is that I have no power in reverse, the car bogs down. Someone suggested the linkage also, saying that it may not be fully in reverse. Rare81 is right, there is very little room. You have to get a special tool (or make one)...

    Not sure, but I think the HV has a gasket. I just installed the Melling High Pressure pump (55A), it didn't come with a gasket.

    Idle problems with 1980

    All the info here is good, but one thing nobody picked up on is the type of plugs you are using. Definetly put in factory AC plugs. The reddish color is the heat range is off. I don't use Platuim or Ceramic plugs unless it came from the factory that way.

    Speedometer Cable Lube

    What I did was unscrew the tranny end and put chassis grease in the cup. It will take some time to come up to the front, but it should help. This is the easyest way. Otherwise you have to take the cable out of the sheathing.

    There are 2 short black hoses that go to the pump and a metal hose that goes to the carb. The thicker black hose is the feed, the thinner one is the return. Usally the thicker cracks and you will smell gas...
