I think the easiest larger repair on a C4 is.....

The car or the pump!!;) Fuel pump swap sure is easier than fuel injectors!

Did you disconnect the EST wire while setting the base timing?

    Help! Rough Idle--intermittent

Since the issue happens regardless of open or closed loop, the cause is common to both modes of operation. What information is used for open and closed loop? TPS is a possibility, they do ware, and if the problem is happening at idle it's possible there is a spot on the wiper that is worn out...

    Question: L98 Hood Stripes

Seems to me I have seen them in the corvette catalogs. (Corvette Central, Mid America, etc.) It's been a while since I have thumbed through a catalog. Did you look at these places?

    Newbie, Jack location?

Welcome to the CAC! :w My jack is located in the spare tire carrier with the spare tire. The lug wrench should be bolted to the passenger side wheel well under the hood. I'm not 100% certain what the black wire with the loop is.

    Power Window Issues

Welcome to the CAC. :w I cannot say with 100% certainty that this is normal operation. Does the driver window act in the same manner? I would like to move your thread to the C4 tech section, which should get more exposure.

Lots of folks out there bashing the C4...what gives?

Corvettes have always been in the family. Growing up my father had several. He was born in 1953. Years later he would pass the corvette bug to his son, born in 1983. Some coincidence. :upthumbs

    Hail and Corvettes?

If it's large enough to break glass on another automobile, I would imagine a corvette would be no different. My car has been in two hail storms that caused significant damage to other cars and structures. Both times, my car was undamaged.

    1982 Crossfire Stalling. Step inside!

Thanks for the suggestions. There were no fault codes stored. I did notice however, that when I would start the motor the battery light was on longer than I felt it should have been. Then when the motor did start to stumble, it came on again. I did have the doors open for a good time while...

    Need help contacting vendor

Around here, you won't find to many threads that have inaccurate support for a product. The great majority of people who contribute do so for the greater good. Although there are a few that have a heavy opinon and no fact, those however are easy to see through. :upthumbs

    Rear Crossover Brake Line

I cut the bad section out and replaced it using new brake line and compression fittings. I'll eventually attempt to change the entire section from the driver side rear block to the passenger side rear block. Thanks

    1982 Crossfire Stalling. Step inside!

I'm working on an 82 with 68k actual miles. Car ran beautiflly up until about 2 weeks ago. The issue: The car will start cold or hot and idle fine. A little on the high side at first but the RPM's do come down. It will run and idle fine for about a minute, then start running rough, rich I...

    Rear Crossover Brake Line

I'm helping a friend that just purchased a 73 BB. It's a survivor, that needs some TLC. The rear crossover Brake Line has a leak. I have a few questions. The first is the obvious, how hard is it to replace this entire section? Secondly to transport the vehicle is it possible to disconnect this...

    OK, Uncle. Saw Blade Rim's?

I can't help with locating the rims. I'm not to that point with my car yet. However when you say your rims are beat up, exactly what do you mean? Is there curb rash, or is the finish just coming off? If the finish is coming off, you can refurbish them yourself. I did mine, and they look great...

Looking for good tree sap remover.

At the first cruise fest, there was a detailing seminar. My memory tells me that when this question was asked, the answer was 3M general purpose adhesive remover. This solvent was also used to completely strip the cars surface before a complete paint detail.

    Help! Need help and guidance....

Welcome to the CAC! :w The best advice I could give, as has already been mentioned, get the FSM. This isn't to say you actually have to turn the wrench, but if you do take it to a shop you will know what they are speaking about. Also start slow, it seems you are not overwhelming yourself, but...

70 vert is it worth the investment

I would have someone else knowledgeable about these cars look at it if you don't feel comfortable. 1970 BB's especially roadsters are big dollar cars. Just a few years ago they were bringing 40k and more. Even today, unless the car is a total pit, only in decent condition would probably fetch...
