Here's an '80. Here's my L-88 hood.

I see you have an '81, You better check the front of your hood. Is it pointed like the '68-72's? Or is it more of a straight line like this pic? If it's like the one below I don't think it'll fit.

$500 starting bid ;shrug ...I'd pass unless it's close to where you live. You can get a new one from Ecklers (who has the original mold from GM) for about that price. Looks like a long L-88 hood.

It's hard to tell from that little picture. Do you have the link? Here's the underside of my short hood but I have the air chamber installed. In that picture of yours there is no air chamber.

Is there anywhere online where I can find info on decoding a Corvette rear end carrier/diff?

Someone told me today that 4:11 gears and higher require a larger differential housing and that these larger one's are not too common. 4:11 gear set won't fit in a 3.73 and lower housing?? Anyone hear of this ?;shrug

I'm using GMPP Sig Series aluminum heads, 110cc chambers, 2.25I & 1.88E valves. Cam is Comp XE 282-S, Duration @ 0.050 244/252. Lift 0.590/0.598, lobe separation 110. Pistons are TRW forged '71 LS-6 replacements.

I used Permatex #2.

That's what I wanted to use w/my factory covers and run a 3" pipe. However, Hedman's BB headers won't work with aluminum heads, I checked. It's in the small print too. I remember something about the shape of the aluminum head exhaust port not matching up perfectly with their pipes. Would...

Don't like them. Phoney is Phoney. Get the real deal. Leave the Phoney crap to the ricers. Yes, some people run side piples from stock manifolds. They happened to come from the factory that way and there aren't 3 dummy pipes on them IMHO. :gap
