If it’s the lock sticking, you can lubricate it without pulling the door panel. With a can of spray lube and one of those little plastic tubes you can spray down from the window channel (with the window open). Work it a few times then spray it again. This has worked for me and usually lasts a...
Hi Stallion,
My sound was more of a rattle/clunk when I first started out. I could see the bolts were loose because I could see light under/through the 2 in the front (they looked loose). When I took a wrench to them they turned real easy. It’s all good now.

Found my noise
I found the problem with my rear end today. The spring bolts were loose, the ones that bolt it up to the differential. I got down and checked every thing else and all seemed OK. I got new bolts and lock washers and all seems good now, NO NOISE.

Mine is not too bad – only 64,000 miles. I am the second owner and the first took care of her until he died. But I still have quite a few TO-DOs on her, it is an old car. I have other cars to drive so I guess when things go bad, it’s not too bad, I just get to them when I can. A corvette is a...
Hi Bob
Welcome to CA. The smog situation depends on where in CA you are moving. We have 2 different smog checks, up north where I live we have the easier one. I have a modified exhaust and don’t have any problem. It was fabricated locally and as long as the cat and all fittings are still there...
I don't know about the "ball park" but check if it will smog. If not you may be in for some big hassles and lots of repair costs. I bought a "good deal" a while back. It diden't smog and the DMV was messed up, I was lucky to get my money out of it.
Good luck

Mine is bad also
I get really bad mileage, less then 10 around town. If on a long trip I might get a little above 15 or so. But I do drive it kind of hard most of the time. I just figure it is part of vet ownership.

I had to use mine once (emergency brake) when by master cylinder crapped out. I was sure glad I had it and am now always careful to ensure it works well even though I don’t use it much.

I just redid mine (in a C3) and I got the gears out of other GM cars in the junk yard. It took about 10 or so until I found gears that matched but I got them. You mite give it a try if you have a pull your own parts junk yard near by.

It’s a sports car with a mussel car feel. I have another sports car (Nissan Z) and they are different, but very much alike also. When you get down to it the Corvette is a Corvette. A category all its own.
Ill go with sports car.
I have done both and the body off will give you a much better job. It is more work but from the sounds of it you are already doing allot. I can usually spot some overspray when painted with the body on. Whatever you decide I hope it turns out the way you want it.
