    Fog Light Air Intake Recomendation.

I did the exact same thing. Used the OEM GM screens and attached them with Velcro. However, I made a template of the back of the foglight bucket and drilled several holes from the outside. They work and look great! Dave

    Charging system fault

Hello out there in C5 land, This morning when starting my '01 coupe, I got a "charging system fault" message on my DIC. I was running late for work and didn't have time to review the codes. I did notice however that the volt reading after the car started was in the 14.4-14.6 range. Is this...

    First drive this spring

Spring!!! ...finally here in upstate NY. I got my '01 out for the first time this spring after 4 long months of the winter blues. I had a Battery Tender hooked up to it all winter, so when I turned the key...it was as if I had just driven it yesterday! I took it for about a 40 mile drive and did...

Help with B&M 6 speed shifter install

The alignment pin that is attached to the OEM shifter is not used with any of the aftermarket shifters. In my case, it stayed attached to the OEM shifter when I pulled it. I think the instrustions with the Hurst shfiter mentions it, (or perhaps I am recalling the instructions on the Corvette...

Battery runs down in a few weeks

I bought a Battery Sentinal. It won't overcharge and cook your battery. Also, a friend bought a Battery Tender (a different brand) with the same good result. Dave

    C5R Shifter Handle

I bought a C5R shifter knob. Since it screws on with no set screw, it tends to loosen quickly. A little teflon tape helped but didn't stop it, only slowed it down. It was OK for a while (a novelty I guess), but I ended up getting a Momo Anatomico tall. Far better IMHO. Together with a new Hurst...

    Electronic Column Lock

Hi, Last weekend I was at Lime Rock Park for a vintage car race. I went with my freind that was driving a 1999 automatic coupe (a Canadian car). When leaving, his column locked up on him. Fortunately, I was able to shake it loose and we were on out way. I told him about the recall and he went...

    Tank Sheet

aka "build sheet". It's in the boxed frame member across the front of the car, behind the front bumper. The ends are open, but you'll have to pull the bottom of the bumper ends to get at it. I didn't bother, I ordered a duplicate from the National Corvette Museum.

    Shift knob Removal on a 02 6spd

Yes, that is exactly what I did. I excavated the plastic around the key. I had to nearly hog through the entire knob to key the remains of the key out. It was installed extremely tight! Have fun and welcome to the C5 forum. Dave

    Shift knob Removal on a 02 6spd

I had the same thing happen to me. I then tried drilling a hole in the remaining key, then used a self tapping sheet metal screw (something to grab on to with vicegrips.....NG! The basemetal is so cheap that it stripped out on the first try (maybe you will be luckier). I bought an aftermarket...

    Check Engine

Two weeks ago my check engine light lit up. I checked and found the code P0157H "low voltage, oxygen sensor #2". I cleared the code at the time and have driven it several hundred miles since. This morning it happened again. Once more, I got a P0157H. I have two questions: 1)If the code is...

Thanks everyone, c4c5specialist, How do I check for this? Is this something I can fix myself or is it a dealer visit? I am an novice backyard mechanic. Thanks again, Dave

"cracking" noise coming from back of car

Sometimes, not always, when coming to a stop with mderate braking, I hear a "cracking" or "snapping" sound coming from the back of my car. Then when starting off again, with moderate acceleration, I hear it again. It doesn't happen when breaking lightly and accelating lightly. Has anyone...
