Allow SO or spouse to drive your vette alone?

My wife was a little timid at first with our 04 C5 but now drives it when she wants to and the weather is good. I have a 99 300M as my daily driver but I exercise the Vette during the week now and then. I raised an issue only once with the wife, which was when she took the Vette to the...

C5 Comfortable for a Big Man?

One other thing If you do get one, and you are located in a place that gets cold winters, you can get a seat belt extender from your local dealer that will let you buckle the seat belt without jamming away with the tang trying to get it into the buckle along side the tranny tunnel. I had a heck...

The Love of the Corvette vs. The Pain In the Wallet at Fuel Up

And on a brighter note for all those who are pushing diesel as the answer...around here this week I saw premium at $2.81 and diesel going at $3.21. Welcome to fuel economy.

The Love of the Corvette vs. The Pain In the Wallet at Fuel Up

No change here My 2004 coupe gets 25 mpg around town, and 31 mpg if I keep it around 65-70 mph on the highway. My wife's Eldo gets about the same. My 99 300M only gets 20 mpg around town and about 26-27 mpg on the highway. I keep the Vette for sunny days [no rain] and use the 300M most days for...

    WTB 2004 Factory Polished Rim(s)

rim repair I've seen some ads in the back of my car mags for a company that repairs dented and damaged rims. You may want to check some of the mags for their ad. Don't know what they charge but it has to be a lot less than a new rim.

Car and Driver 50th Birthday Bash

Anyone going to the C & D 50th Birthday bash at Indianapolis Raceway Park this weekend? I hope to go up tomorrow and at least get a ride in an Audi supercar on Saturday morning. I do not intend to drag my car or do the autocross racing in their cars. There are supposed to be some car corrals...

    Hotels in Bowling Green

Other things to do I liked the Holiday Inn at University Plaza. Nice place, and many awards in their showcase. Other things to do--The Patton Museum is about 75 miles north of the Museum and a nice drive. [I-65 to Joe Prather Hwy -313, to Hwy 31W going north. The Museum has a separate entrance...

    Aug 12-14 Bowling Green Homecoming

Nch Akfox1--Thanks for the info. I've got the Woodward Dream Cruise the following weekend in Detroit area, with my Chrysler 300M Enthusiasts Club, and then a follow-on tour the following Monday at the Brampton, Ontario plant where the cars are made, so I don't see the wife letting me do two...

    Convertible, Targa, Z06, Z51

preference You mean the darn top comes off of my 04 Coupe? Geez, I better get the book out and take a look at this development. lol Targa is the best of both worlds. I've had it since July [over 5.3K miles now] and plan on finally taking out the targa piece in the spring if we get a dry day...

    Corvettes Bursting into Flames

Corvette and flames Never heard of this as a problem before. But didn't Jr.'s C5-R burst into flames when he had that crash a month or two ago? Don't know what happened there.

    What is your 'daily driver'?

daily driver For six plus years now it has been a 99 Chrysler 300M. One of the best cars I ever owned, and I never thought I would say that about a Chysler. Liked it so much I kept it when I got the Vette in July, and even over the wife's objection. Just passed 74K smiles.:cool

Z06 photos Rob-- Are the photos at post #444 on the Edmunds 2005 Corvette forum real or just computer creations? If you know?

    Z06 Photos

Autoweek- C6 Since the Z06 is the cover picture, and major story in Autoweek's current issue which came in the mail today, isn't an "embargo" overtaken by events? As for all the bruhaha over the spy photos, etc., the sound you hear from me is a big yawn. What is the big deal? Some minor...

Size of C-5 warning label on sunvisor

PT Warehouse Their email is www.ptwarehouse.com. Tell em what you want and mention that Ira is the point man on the visor plates. That should do the trick.

Size of C-5 warning label on sunvisor

visor plates Finally got the Sunvisor Plates to cover the ugly warning labels on my 04 Vette. PT Warehouse from Maryland made them, you can find them on the net [contact Ira] if interested. The ones they made fit the C-5, at least the 04 model, but not the C-6 which I noticed yesterday on a...

    Tire pressure

tire pressure in the EMT's When I picked up my 04 on July 1, the saleman said that they set the tire pressure at 29 front and 31 rear. The DIC readout agreed with that. It was virtually the same every time I drove it, and they went up a couple of pounds while doing some highway driving. Then...

    C5 Bra - Recommendations??

Clear bra review This weekend, I had a chance to go over the application of the clear stuff in more detail that I had done by Autotrim Design near home. Cost was $301 installed. I have a Medium Sprial Gray color 04. The application is incredible. You cannot see this stuff virtually at all...

    C5 Bra - Recommendations??

Clear bra is in place Got the clear bra stuff put on by local Autotrim Design shop. The invoice says that it is Avery SPL. I think it is made by Avery-Denison. It may be called Invinca Shield. It looked very good at pick-up but I have not had the time to nitpick the application for tiny...
