This is why Hib thought you were trusting your gauge. You could point a temp gun at the engine temp sensor to get a base reading for comparison. At least you'll know whether the app or vehicle gauge is off.

I went to a Meineke Shop last year and brought in my converter so he could make me a test pipe. He wouldn't do it because just the intent to change the converter was there and he could still be fined $10K.
The feds must scare the crap out of the muffler places for this guy to refuse the job...
That's a tough one Tuna. I've put exhausts on and didn't realize how lame they sounded until somebody pointed it out. I changed it out after they told me it sounded like crap.
You need opinions on this add-on.

Go to these links and get sample sounds from each brand. Depending on your computer speakers, you can get a good comparison going. It will not be the same as next to the car, but at least it's a start.

Just in case...check to make sure all of the wires are plugged in at the wheels. Take them off, inspect them and spray some contact cleaner on both ends before plugging them back in.

First off doing that job on jack stands at 25 years old is a pain. Doing it at 55 is ... well I commend you for it :cool!:. This job is bad enough under a lift!!! AT least under a lift, you've got the full force of the extended breaker bars.

Make sure to replace upper and lower plenum gaskets and throttle body gasket. Also all the injector o'rings...no exceptions!!!

If you have the "plastic" stabilizer links, then yes! Get the nice metal replacement ones with the grease fittings. You'll feel a HUGE difference with those. Also replace the front ones if they are the kind I just described.
By the way, the picture that Toms01 sent you has those junk plastic...
