It might just be a bad battery. If you hear the solinoid clicking then it's working, but there's just not enough juice to turn the starter. I'd try jumpstarting it from another car or just replace the battery if it's more than 4 years or so old. Also, the starter power cable connections could...
Avoid ethanol if you can. It will ruin your injectors over time. Most people have replaced their injectors with newer style ones that can take the ethanol.

I agree with not just throwing parts at the car, but if it has the original injectors then it's just a matter of time before they give you problems even if they are not causing the current issue.
There are lots of opinions on injectors... I used these. Great price and the motor runs great...
Does it still have the original fuel injectors? You can check the resistance between the pins on the fuel injectors. It should be 16 ohms if I remember right. The resistance goes down as the ethanol in the 'new' fuels eat the coils and eventually the injector stops working. There are lots of...
Thanks for the info. I took my slave apart, cleaned out the metal shavings and verfied the seal was installed correctly before I installed it on the car. I'm curious to pull it and see what's causing the leak.

My 90 is having the tell tale drips under the trans now. I haven't crawled under there to look, but the resevior is down so I'm pretty sure. My slave is just over a year old with a few thousand miles on it. It seems silly that the original part lasted for almost two decades and the new one can't...
I had the same problem with my 89 and it went away when I changed the MAF burnoff relays. They are the two relays behind the battery on the firewall. Don't ask me why it worked???

If your going put the time into replacing the bushings, then I'd just buy the correct parts. The real bushing kit is only $12. The hardware store bushings might look the same, but they may not be the same.
Cheers,

It seems to me that a Dana 44 would be fine since street tires will just break loose before you hurt the rear end. It sounds to me like people start breaking things when they go to sticky slicks.
400-500 HP is a lot of power. I have to think that going from a stock L81 to a ZZ383 will be an...
If the fuel injectors are original then they need to be replaced with the new style due to ethanol in todays fuels eating them up inside. You can ohm check them easily to see how they are doing, but if you have the originals then it's just a breakdown waiting to happen.
Also, if you haven't...
After an hour of trying to get it on I ended up just cutting a notch to one of the holes on the slave clyinder. That way I could slide it onto one stud and then rotate it on to the other.

When I replaced my master and slave cylinders I disassembled each of the and found metal shavings in both bores. Also, there were some slave cylinders made in the last few years where one of the seals in the slave was installed backward. You might be able to get a rebuild kit for the slave and...
Hi,
On the intake gaskets I would just put a bead of red RTV down there and forget about it. Let the car cool, dry it and clean it as best you can down there and RTV it. Not worth $550, it is a lot of labor to change. I paid the $550 years ago when I had my 89 and regret not just RTVing it...
People who drive trucks and SUVs should have recieve training on how little they can see out the pass side and rear. They seem to think they have great visibility from way up there but the reality is they have huge blind spots. I've been backed into by an SUV too and I was laying on my horn...
Let's say you got the car for free and had $15,000 to spend to restore a C4. Call it 25% parts and 75% labor. That would give you 187 hours of shop time or 5 or 6 man-weeks at $60/hr. I bet you could get a new interior, rebuilt suspension and either new paint or a rebuilt driveline, but not...
There are lots of used ones around. There are early and late C4 targa tops, so they are not all interchangeable. I'm not sure of the years but if you do a search it should come up.
