    1990 corvette

Have you checked the fuel injectors? The resistance should be 16 ohms. The original fuel injectors (at least in my 1990) are gray. If they're original you can plan on changing them at some point regardless. gook luck... Scott

    oil change

... I've developed a heathy fear of jackstands and I now jack up the car and just put a couple of 2 inch think concrete blocks under each of the tires. They're dirt cheap at home depot. It puts the car up enough to slide under there and with the parking brake on and the car in gear it's not...

    Bilstein Shocks

Shocks don't normally die suddenly. You could probably put another 50K miles on the shocks you have and still have a safe car. If you’re worried about reliability and you're happy with the current ride and handling, then I'd just leave the shocks as is. My bilsteins were 18 years old with...

    Bilstein Shocks

I replaced the shocks on my 1990 with 40K miles. The car was pretty bouncey at times. Much better with the new shocks. I went with the Z-51s too. Scott

    1989 Black Cloth Seats

I just go to an interior shop. They can cover the new seat foam with a wide range of materials for a less than the new leather covers. Scott

    cleaning aluminum parts

I used some mild soapy water and a scotch bright pad on the plenum. I rubbed it with some very fine steel wool after that and it looks pretty good. I did this to the aluminum suspension parts, unpainted tubing and the ac compressor too and they look great. The alternator in mine is brand...

    Question: 6 speed problem

I'd go to zfdoc.com and give that guy a call. Are the slave and master for the clutch original? Hopefully it's not as bad as you think.... Scott

    91 Vert Storage Lid

Airbus/memphis? FedEx? Anyhow, I've been having a similar problem with the deck lid on my 90. The deck lid kept popping up on it's own and the actuators would click open randomly. I pulled the fuse and pulled back the carpet and insulation back there. I found the connectors for the deck lid...

ZF6 Slave Cylinder Defect Issue FOUND!!!!

Hopefully the wagner is better. I just disassembled my AC delco slave cylinder for the second time to check for burs. The edge of the groove looked good, but then I used a long Qtip to clean out the bore and found three metal shavings down at the bottom of the bore. These would have destoryed...

ZF6 Slave Cylinder Defect Issue FOUND!!!!

I just disassembled the one I got with my car. The part was purchased a couple months ago and the seal was installed correctly according to the pictures on ZFdocs website. AC delco part. A piece of 1 inch PVC pipe works great for reseating the rubber bellows. Are the seals available...

ZF6 Slave Cylinder Defect Issue FOUND!!!!

I have a new slave cylinder that came with my new to me corvette. The one in the car is leaking and I'd like to change it out. How hard is it to disassemble the slave cylinder and fix the seal? Any special tools or anything? Thanks for figuring this out for everyone! Scott

    Question: replace a l98 engine for a ls6 on a 91 vette

I think a good rebuild of your L-98 with one of the supercharger kits would get you near the same performance with a lot less headaches and probably a lot less money. Scott

How Do You Tell Them Apart

The wheels changed in 2000. The narrow spoked wheels are 2000-04. It's a somewhat common upgrade for the 97-99s though. Scott

Help! Fiberglass repair!! kinda bad? not sure

Do the cracks around the marker light go all the way thru or just thru the paint and gelcoat? You'll need to grind down to the bottom of those cracks and fill them back in with glass mat and resin if they are deep. I'm pretty sure they used polyester resin on those parts, but I'm not sure...
