Never to old to learn a new trick. Guess I'm a product of old school of thinking and never even thought of changing the filter without changing oil.:thumb
Wait a minute, Junk is serving shine!!! Must make an appointment now, my tires are way overdue for air rotation.:boogie:boogie:boogie I'll just have to hurry and beet Steve there :beer.
Did you call Corvettes of Huston, I bought stuff from them before and they were reasonable.
Before going on a shopping spree I would recommend you fallow GMJunky's advice and at least check the codes on the DIC. Seams like he is thinking with the right head this time:boogie, you might have a...
Darn it Junk, first a picture of you smoking an unidentified cigarette then the content of your center council ??? Man you have to be more discreet about this stuff:boogie
:duh
Whatever the outcome I only hope it does not led to what we saw in the late 70's and through the 80's where the car companies lost direction and pride and put out lots of garbage automobiles. It seams that whenever a market makes a drastic change' like we are in now, it takes the car companies...
That is weird because every time I even disconnected the battery the key fob had to be re learned. Maybe re program is a bad language as appose to re learn as there really is a different re program procedure. :confused
If you have your radio programed with a theft code make sure you write it down, you will have to unlock it. Your fobs will have to be relearned (press lock/unlock at same time till it beeps) and that is all. If the theft security light does not blink on the radio when turned of the code was not...
No clips for the vanity mirror, Just rebuild mine, and it's doable but you will have to do some gluing of the little studs that hold it together. They are the type thet when assembled you melt the tip over to create a mushroom cap. Wish I took some pictures.
Thanks for all your help. Just got back from looking at it and I'm more confused now than before seeing it. The interior and frame is from 76 but the rest ? Engine was not original, I don't think it even came from a vette (2 barrel 350). Needles to say I convinced my daughter to keep on looking.
Thanks for the reply, actually it's my older daughter who is interested in buying this car. I have a C5 and know very little about the C3 model but once I looked closer at the pictures something didn't seam right. I'll have to check the vin numbers along with the block and frame to make sure I...
So my daughter wonts to be like dad and get a corvette. She is a med student with double major and insists on paying her tuition from her job in Olive Garden, you guessed it she is broke. She found a 76 for 5K that needs some cosmetic help along with cluster not working. I'll be taking a look at...
You go get em!!! Just a thought, if the bearing was under warranty is the diff also covered. If so I would let them have at it and maybe replace it with a 3.15 performance diff. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Also curious if it is the dealer with the BS initials, I'm going to have them...
I always use the metal shields. They are very easy to reinstall and there is no reason not to use them. Koolsox are good for header installation but if you are running stock manifolds and GM red wires just reinstall stock metal heat shields and all should be fine.
Not so sure I would take advice from a guy who makes his living fixing GMs mistakes :cool. Job security comes to mind like "don't worry about it and when it brakes I'll fix it for half the price"! The only sure way to avoid having this type of an issue is to bypass the whole system, there are to...
Every one knows that the C6 was freshly waxed for the test and they drove the C5 to the test site through dusty back roads. The actual difference is much grater than the skewed numbers show, typical GM conspiracy! And for those who think it's all a hog wash you obviously did not read the Mothers...
Just had mine off and they were stubborn like yours. I had to spray some penetrating lube, let it sit for an hour. Then I put on a gear puller and applied little pressure. With pressure on the arm and shaft I gently taped the puller an the torsion screw with a small hammer. One or two small taps...
