    Spare Tire Question

Purchase an AZ 15x8 ralley wheel (original or reproduction, your choice); install a 205-70R-15 tire for use as the spare. A 75 series tire might fit in the tub, but it will be a little taller than a 70 series tire. 70 series will fit without problems. If your existing space saver tire and rim...

Just about to acquire a 77 corvette but no catalytic converters & I am in California!

Contact your local California DMV Office and ask what you are going to need to meet emissions testing requirements. :thumb

What color should the inside of the front fender vents be.

Probably color coat overspray. That area did not get blackout treatment and is not likely to have gotten much more than color overspray.

    Help! Replacing 1979 corvette seats

The driver's side floor pan is different for the 81-82 optional power driver's seat to accomodate the seat motor. The power seat will not bolt in for the earlier cars without floor pan modification. Ditto for 81s and 82s without the option; not bolt in. :thumb

Question: Paint good for fiberglass floor and one-sided adhesive?

FWIW: the more you look over your car, the more likely you are to find raw, unpainted fiberglass panels. These are factory stock. GM saw no purpose to be served by painting them. :)

Question: Paint good for fiberglass floor and one-sided adhesive?

You do not need any specialized paint for fiberglass underbodies. Rattle can hot rod primer off the shelf at Wally World works as well as any thing more expensive. Food for Thought: why paint the floors when you intend to cover them up with insulaiton and, later, carpet? :thumb

Numbers matching; how far can I go

This thread is not about the NCRS. The OP asked only about matching numbers. :thumb

Numbers matching; how far can I go

I agree with Mikey; what you do is up to you. I get the impression you already know what your limits might be. :thumb

    New member/new C3 owner

Welcome. My advice would be to tune your 78, then drive it the rest of the summer to get acquainted with it. Don't make any major changes to it for the time being. By fall, you'll begin to have a better feel for the car and can go from there. :thumb

    climate control lights

Lakeside: we can agree to disagree. :) Keep in mind Zora Duntov had a lot of things he had to live with and could not change. He had to work with what he was given. :thumb

    climate control lights

Zora Duntov had retired from GM before your car came out. You can't blame him for 77-82 HVAC illumination. :)

Question: Pre 73 chrome bumper add on?

I agree. If you want chrome, buy chrome and skip an attempt at a converson. :thumb

    68 Corvette Info

You can try the VIN in the C3 Registry but that may not lead to much. C3VR - Official C3 Vette Registry - Corvette C3 Registry #11135 was assembled in February, 1968. Did you own your car before that time? :thumb

New to the forum - thinking about my first c3

Not without throwing money at it. If you want a four speed car, keep looking until you find one. What does "just because it's a 1980" have to do with anything? I have an 80 L-82 and love it. :thumb

Help on buying my first C3

The car you list is far from stock. You will be buying the seller's modifications good, bad, or ugly. My advice would be to pass on this one and keep looking. $7800 could buy you a better C3. :thumb
