because GM tries to find a way to build the car at less cost. they do this all the time as i had a new 2000 impala with no problems but i bought a new 2004 impala and if not for the GM extended warranty it would have cost me thousands of $$$. the cars should get better as they go into the model...

if the air cleaner will clear without the front bowl vent tube pull it out and plug the hole.it is there for emmission venting
