Not sure if your new hub was from GM or an after-maket unit. But, I had a friend of mine replace all four hubs on his C4. Two of them were from GM and two turned out to be after-maket hubs even though they came from the same source. He checked the two after-market hubs and both had a huge amount...
Larry,
Great to hear that it wasn't something important and is easily replaced.
It reminds me of the time when my father had a hubcap (what are those? :D ) come off and pass us. Always found it hard to understand how those things could go faster than the car it came from........... :eyerole...
:cool Maybe I need to build a '62 street racer. ;)
Yeah that's the ticket for your next project...... :D
There's often interesting stories on the history of some of these cars. It reminded me of the white paint I found on the inside of the door panel on our 62. I happened to run into...
That reminds me of the summer I worked at an Atlantic Service Station. They had what was called "Red Ball Service" (no need for comments on that :L ) which meant that we had to check the oil and clean the windshield. If we forgot to do it their gas was free! Of course the price per gallon was...
Just read the article last night. Nice job on the article and a fantastic garage. John did a superb job in the design. A perfect setting for retirement "play". While we've seen it before in Forum posts it was super to see a nice article giving it the exposure it deserves. :upthumbs

Tom,
Your car is not only going to be great looking and unique but safe as well. Great job with the fabrication. Since I've seen the machine work you've done for our project first hand I can attest to how well you do things.
Best of luck with the rest of the project.

Collin,
Great story which goes to prove that good things can come out of the seemingly worst situations if you have the right attitude. That one belongs in the Driveline or Restorer.
Best of luck in Boston. :upthumbs

Ray,
We have gone to the two last events and hope to be there this year. Frankly, after seeing it twice with virtually no competition for the Vettes we had decided not to go back, however, now the Aston-Martins are helping to make it more interesting. The tight turns and short straights at...
Sounds similar to the info. I just read on the Jayski web site.....
"Sucking Air"? engines at the Daytona 500? It's taken a while for word to leak out, but the big Daytona 500 trick this season - which NASCAR discovered but made no announcement about - concerned engines "sucking air" to gain...
From what I understand the 59 was built about five years ago by Street Rods Only as a replica and was sold at this year's Palm Beach Barret-Jackson auction.

Thom,
Thanks for the post. It seemed that there had been quite a few questions about what to look for and that it would be a good time to try to cover the subject further.
The next installment will cover the tow vehicle, hitch setup, safety, maintenance and options to consider and I hope it's...
We used the same thermostat and also installed the temp sender in the head but on the passenger side. Both worked fine.
I see that you've installed a heat shield around the steering box. Things getting a little hot in that area?

Bob,
We had a problem with the relays that originally came with the dual Spal fans. It almost looked like they were slowly melting inside the relay case. Be Cool sent me an upgraded higher amp model setup and there were no problems after that. You might be experiencing the same problem.
Rich...
John,
Bob and I have had a number of phone conversations and e-mail exchanges when he was deciding on the new frame and I sent him pictures of the body mods needed. Hopefully it will help give him a few more body work projects to do with his free time. :L
