Is there a general rule for the color of the intake manifolds? What color should the intake manifold be for my 66 SB? :confused I notice some are orange and some are grey.
Yes, I think that is the upper A arm. I'll have to se what i am missing for hardware, I will take a good look next time I see one with the shielding. At least for now none of the wires are touching the exhaust manifold. As for the distributor beiing a tooth off, is that something I can adjust...
DONE!!!! Thank you all for your help. It's on and looks great :D. I put the new resistor in and she started up fine. I now have a timing problem though :ugh . When I moved the coil to where it was supposed to be, I had to turn the distributor a bit counterclockwise. The timing is now off and I...
Oh yeah, that works for me :). I'll have to get one of those bibles! Thanks a lot. :w I hope to finish the job today... then I'll see if I can get it going again :ugh
I don't have that in my kit. The J-Nut is part 0168 in the Corvette America catologue. I don't see it at all on the Paragon diagram, and I haven't got a clue where it goes.:confused
I am not sure what you mean by the "J" clips. I only have one part left, it's called the Ignition Shield J-Nut, and I don't know where it goes. So if I understand, the shielding for the front 2 sparkplugs does not actually serve an purpose because the sparkplug wires do not go through the...
progress
I found how the side shields bolt onto the exhaust manifold. (I found that some of the brackets had a different kink in them, which allowed me to align with the bolt). So ... I'm ok with that now, I also found the impossible to see hole on the block where 430 and 662 bolt into. So I...
As you can tell I am really dumb on this one :crazy . I'll take another good look (it's just that I feel dumber every time I look. I am sure if I saw one in place it would all make sense, but I have never seen it (or paid attention to it). I am not sure if I have the shields you are referring...
Update - Sad story
Alright, here is the update. All was going well, I had the top cover and back shields on and thought I would crank it over just to make sure all was still well. As soon as I cranked it over, smoke started appearing from under the shielding :ugh . I shut the car off and now it...
As Supertramp would say "it's comming along." No problem moving the coil over. No problem with having the the main shield fit. Now I am a bit bogged down in the details as I put the shielding along the exhaust manifold. So a few questions please :confused .
1. Part 3393 and 658 (the rear...
Well this would be good news. So, you are suggesting I remove the coil from it's current location and I should find an alternative spot to bolt the bracket on? As John pointed out, the fact that my coil is bolted down on the driver's side would mean that this manifold must have come from a 68...
Sorry, you are right it is indeed 3919803. I have a holly carb on it. I don't have a digital camera (all my money goes into the car :L ). So I guess I should switch intake manifolds:cry ? How will I know if the stock manifold will fit on my motor (I think my block is from a 64)?
Finally any...
Houston do I have a problem???
Ok, here is hurdle #1! Looking at Paul's photo, I notice the coil is on the passenger side of the distributor, mine is on the driver's side. I am hoping it is because Paul's is a 67, otherwise :crazy
Thanks. I don't have an AIM, I do have the Corvette America catoloque with the blow-up but I still don't really get it. Sure would be nice to have a nieghbourgh with one!
